I have narrowed my vacation home search down to 3 houses, all of which are on www.villadirect.com

Has anyone had any experiences with them that you could share?

Hi..we had a home with VillaDirect for several years until we sold. they do a nice job. They do not sell homes in addition to management which sets them apart from many of the companies. They have grown a great deal in the last 2 years and now market only in the newer developements with newer homes.
Their office for key pick-up is very convenient off I-4 or the tollway from the airport.
As with any management company be sure you have an emergency number in case some rare problem happens.
I think you will find them more than satisfactory.

I did NOT like Villa Direct, mainly because of their poor customer service. We stayed at a home they had at Emerald Island.

For one, for all the numerous rules and regulations they had posted up EVERYWHERE in the house, they had NOTHING up on how to use the spa.

We thought the spa was broken and had to call them up. It turns out however that the jets weren't turned on, but we didn't know that.
When they came out they acted like we were stupid because we didn't know where the pool settings were, because apparently they think everyone knows the layout and settings of electrical equiptment within the 2 minutes they arrive. :sad2:

Then there was the whole ordeal with them not knowing what a PFD is. I went to their office in that one strip mall to ask if they had PFD's (Lifesavers) , and they looked at me like I had sprouted a 2nd head.

The final straw was the fact NO ONE came out to fix to pool the 2nd time we called. We were staying their a week and Tuesday we finally were able to rest and use the pool. To our surprise the pool was as hot as a hot tub should be . Keep in mind we Did NOT order pool heat. We called and they said they'd send someone out that day within a few hours . However, NO ONE came out that day or even Wednsday. Finnally my dh went out Wed night and saw were the setting were to the pool were and yes... the pool heat was on, and we had to turn it down. We reported this to them , but we never got a response....

Needless to say, I am picking a different company next year.

Hi...no excuse for that kind of treatment. I sent this thread to the supervisor of the company...
I still feel overall they are solid company that rents hundreds of homes a month successfully.

They need to know, however, that these types of concerns exist and are out there on message boards....Ted

We've always had great experiences with them, in fact we're booked with them again this year for the second half of our trip. (the Sunshine Bay Villa in Oak Island Cove).

They called and checked on us after we got settled. I told them everything was great, but half jokingly mentioned that the clock in the kitchen wasn't working. Within a half hour they were out there to replace the batteries!

We'll stick with them as they have the best combination of houses, prices and service that we've found.

Highly recommended!

We're staying in a home in Emerald Island next Friday the 15th through the 23rd - I'll let you know my experiences with the home and the company upon our return.

We're staying in one of their largest homes, and everything looks really luxurious. My MIL has handled all of the financial end with Villadirect, however I know when they revised the contract to delete the automatically added pool heat (who needs $200 pool heat in July) they gave us no problems whatsoever.
