Villa vs Suite

Ok so we were thinking of just doing hotel room on IDrive, like we used to before we had DD, however, a friend of mine has just planted the seed of a villa and it sounds like it would work better with DD being 7, so we have space, own pool, some evening meals at home if DD too tired to go to restaurants in the evening, relaxing time at "home"....BUT...not sure if it's gonna fit our budget. Here's the plan...

October 2015 (incl half term so end ish of the month)
2 adults 1 child
fly direct from Birmingham, which is usually unlikely at this time of year (?) so otherwise Manchester

Budget £3500 - 4K

I have never done DIY but if we can get better accommodation within budget I may go down that route.

if not a villa, can anybody recommend a really nice suite, whereby we have separate bedrooms and a kitchen? Villa would be ideal but I'm not sure if we could get it on our budget, may be able to save a little bit more and not have the extras we planned like photoplus and character dining.

Does your budget cover tickets as well?

We are going this October and got (indirect) flights for half term for around the £500 mark, direct was around £600 but some dates were cheaper earlier on in the year depending on dates.

You could easily rent a TH or condo for around £50 to £60 a night, some are cheaper. In December we stayed in a 3 br TH for that price at Emerald Island. Some villas are around that price but may be further out. It can be mind boggling looking at all the options!

We have also stayed at Sherton Vistana in a condo, though generally these tend to be more expensive. Deals are often advertised though I think they are still around $100 per night, or more.

You will also need to a hire a car so factor this into your price as well.

For 2 weeks I think you will be able to manage on your budget:)

Thanks for the advise. That's just the budget for flights accommodation and car so approx 3.5 to 4k. We got also budget for passes, food and spends. Btw what's a TH?

Although we have been a few times, we have never stayed on site, as we've never been able to afford it. Maybe one day....

Anyway, we usually rent a condo-apartment, and the cheapest ones I have seen - and therefore use - are at "Lindfields Island Club", which is on US 192 (Irlo Bronson Highway). They are clean, with a full kitchen and laundry facilities, and have a communal pool and jacuzzi that you can use. Not too far from Disney either. There are ones in different communities, but they are more expensive - it all depends on what you can afford.

Hope this helps!

TH is a Townhouse, we have stayed at Windsor Hills and Emerald Island in one. Those at WH have a splash pool at the back and are 3br. WH is a gated community and has a nice communal pool area. EI is also gated but the landscaping around the pool area is not as pretty. Both are near to WDW. In December we did a split stay between WDW and a TH. :)
