My question is mainly a concern for the availabilty of good places to eat for Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day -

Should we really consider a Villa if we have dining plan ?
We will be going Dec 21 - ( 8 nights )

we thought we should consider (Plan B ) fixing a Christmas meal in our Villa - vs - trying to find restaurants during this large crowd holiday period of time -but of course that would mean groceries when we've already purchased dining plan !

Never have been @ WDW during holiday time. so, what's your opionion ?
Would it be a good idea to go a slower pace Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and enjoy our resort & dining in our Villa ?

Any experiences similar during holiday?

To me the benefits of staying in a villa have nothing to do with cooking. I've never turned the stove on. :goodvibes I love the extra room, washer and dryer, jacuzzi tub and big fridge for all the water and soda. (in a one bedroom)

If your only reason for getting a villa is to cook a big meal, I would have to weigh the cost of a room at whatever reasort with the cost of the villa. But I know I would hate fighting all those crowds and the idea of relaxing in the villa is an excellent one!

You're not talking about this Christmas, are you? If so, you may want to get on the phone asap! :sunny:

If it were me I would buy enough to make a great holiday breakfast and then have a reservation for dinner. To me it would free up another day to enjoy the parks, as opposed to me being in the villa all day cooking. On the other hand....the villa all day sounds quite nice! :confused3

Are you staying in a DVC villa? Are you renting from a member or did you rent directly from Disney?

We got a fully cooked dinner from Goodings for Christmas dinner once. We just had to heat the turkey and fixings up.
