In the refridgerator (1 or 2 bedroom villa), is the ice maker an automatic one or will we have ice trays that need to be filled by us?

I believe at OKW you have an icemaker in the 1 and 2BR and GVs. However in the other DVC resorts at WDW, I think there are only ice trays. You still have access to an ice machine for your floor (or nearby floor) or your buidling. You could just bag some ice and leave it in the freezer.

I think BLT had ice makers in the freezer.

We prefer the ice machines in the vending rooms. The water filters are better quality and they are changed more frequently.

I don't remember at OKW, but I know that at BCV, BWV, SSR and AKV we have gotten ice from machines.

SSR's THV had ice makers in the refrigerators; the nearest ice machine was at Grandstand which is too far too walk with ice.

BLT 2 BR had an ice maker that didn't shut off. We looked in there when we were about to check out and saw a freezer full of ice--guess nobody used any while we were there.

Yes, I can confirm that there is an ice maker in the kitchens of BLT refrig. Not sure about the newly remodeled BWV. Anyone know since the appliances have been changed during the remodel.

SSR had the trays in our 1 bedroom.

Depends on the resort. As far as I know, only OKW and BLT have ice makers in the kitchen fridge. I don't recall if AKV did or not. I do know that BWV, BCV and SSR do NOT have ice makers other than trays, but they do have ice machines, as do all the DVC resorts.

The frig in our BLT 1BR unit had a switch to turn on / off the internal icemaker.

There was an ice tray -- not an automatic ice maker -- in the freezer of our 1-bedroom at BoardWalk villas in March. This was after the refurbishing.

Thanks for the feedback. I should have mentioned that I am staying at AKV (as ticker notes). I am cool with getting ice from the ice vending machine - just not refilling trays for 5 people.
