Hi Everyone. I currently have a one bedroom island view room booked in August. Since I can't borrow more than 50% of points I can't upgrade to a ocean view room which is what I really want. I could change to a poolside view room. I have never requested anything through Disney but have seen on this forum you could. How do I request and what should I request? Please all advice is appreciated as my husband and I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary.

You can call or email DVC. I would call as I emailed and they never responded. And you can do your room request there. There are a few island view rooms that have an partial ocean view. You can find information on rooms here:

Not sure if either of these are available to you, but if it's just you and your husband I'd consider either upgrading/downgrading (depending on how you look at it) to Ocean View Studio, or downgrading to Standard View 1 bedroom.

We will be traveling with my two kids also. Just trying to make the vacation special and I have never made any requests to Disney before and not sure what to request as I have never been to Aulani

Island Garden View rooms are either facing the ocean but too low to see it (below ocean view rooms) or facing away from the ocean but higher up (above standard view rooms).

Your best chance at seeing a sliver of ocean:
707, 713, 562, 568, 983

Your best view of the island:
Highest floor available, rooms ending in 53, 59, 63, 71, 77

Most convenient to lobby and elevators:
53, 59

For Island Garden view one bedrooms with an ocean view, request the highest floor possible Ewa tower facing Halawai Lawn ending in xx77 (room # 1077-1677) or x83 (room # 983 or 883). Ask member services via email or chat to add your request.

We always get the Island garden view and request EWA tower, high floor overlooking the luau. We love it. We see the ocean, part of the Island, and we get to watch the luau from our balcony.

I am not sure how many points you are short, but if it is less than 25, you can do a one time purchase at $19 a point. I was 9 points short from pool view and called and paid for the 9pts to upgrade to ocean view.

Thank you everyone. I was able to figure it out and confirmed a 1 bedroom ocean view villa. My question now is what location is the best to be in.
