Okay - I see everyone hopes to have a great view, but no noise from road, people, pools, etc. Out of the WDW DVC resorts, which resort can you get a great room at most of the time! Does that make sense! I'm trying to figure out which resort has the best room locations, not necessarily rooms. (I know OKW is hands down the best in room size).

Example, VWL has the dreaded Dumpster View, but what other issues do the rooms have. OKW, you hear complaints about road noise, bus noise, pool noise, same with BCV and BWV, so which has the least amount of issues!!!

Having never been yet, I've no idea. But I'll be very interested in seeing what SSR ends up having. The first four buildings would seem not to have any 'bad' views; wonder what 5 - 12 will have?

Rich really has us trained well! ;)

If you get an Ocean View Inn Room at VB or a Boardwalk View Room at BWV, you will be guaranteed a spectacular view. Those are the only views you can guarantee tho.

I guess we're not very fussy about these things. I know we dislike rowdy noise or thumping machinery when we're trying to rest, and we probably wouldn't like to look straight at an overflowing dumpster. But beyond that, we're delighted with just about any view we get at WDW.

Pumpkin boy - we had an Ocean View Inn Room on the 4th floor, directly over the little lawn!!! Awsome view, we could hear the waves crashing every night. wish they had screens on the doors so we could leave the door open and not get the bugs!!! That was probably the best view I have ever had. Except for a stay at Wilderness Lodge before DVC, I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't sleep, went out on my porch, I could see the castle all lit up!!! Realy neat and talk about Pixie Dust Flying around me!!! Another room we had at the Contemporary, actually we booked this area twice, we could watch the Water Pagent from our patio, first floor, and in the morning the ducks would come up, we would pet them, my DD loved this!!!

Although I have heard people say that BWV is noisy...I don't hear it :)

There are very few rooms at BWV with bad views. Even the "standard" views are very nice (Some overlook the canal, pond and Tower of Terror). I would be very comfortable putting a reservation at BWV without any "requests" and confident that I would end up with an enjoyable view.

That said, I have little doubt that other resorts may be similar. Maybe I'm not picky enough! ;)

Well the reason I asked was I just made my first (other than VB or OKW) resort reservation that we are really going to use!!!! It's at VWL and all I requested was non-smoking. I did request a 1 bedroom, so I assume I am safe to not get the dumpster view!!! But we will see!!

If you are concerned about getting the service area view, you might want to add "near the elevators" to your request. That should help to avoid that particular view.

One of the great things about VWL is that almost all of the views are pretty much the same....woods. There are a few rooms that overlook the quiet pool and have a glimpse of Bay Lake. And there are a few that have the service area view. The others are primarily woods views.

Enjoy your trip!

When it comes to requesting specific rooms, I'm typically of the "surprise me" mindset. I hate to get pigeonholed into a single location because I never know what we might be missing elsewhere.

That said, I wasn't crazy about the location during our second stay at OKW. Instead of the golf course view we had previously enjoyed, our balcony for Trip 2 backed-up to a mass of trees. Not much opportunity to enjoy the view (or the sun) as it always appeared to be nighttime when out on the balcony.

And, right on the other side of that patch of forest was a main road. The noise really didn't filter into the room with the patio door closed, but we really had no incentive to open it given the noise.

I can't remember the exact building number--I think it was 35 or 38.

Hilton Head, I don't think there is a bad location on property. That is not to say you can't have noise from neighbors, but that can happen anywhere.

2nd. Would be Old Key West
3rd. Would be Boardwalk
Tie between WL and BC because they built these two as an after thought and it shows in the views.

I'll preface with I feel the majority of views at BWV are very good---I just didn't happen to get one of them. I had a PV room that overlooked the canal and the valet parking lot/service area driveway. This is one resort where I will be specific in the view I request next time because many of the other views I observed were better than what I had.
We've never had a bad view at OKW, though I've read some people have been close to the road, etc. I usually request "water" or "woods" view there and have never had that problem or the overgrown bushes view.
VWL has the dumpster view---which I've only seen in pics----but otherwise I find the woods views very pretty and peaceful. The VWL courtyard view can be a little on the noisy side due to the pool being right there, but some would perhaps consider this a desired view.
I've never been to the BCV so can't comment. We had a fantastic view from the 3rd floor of the Inn at Vero. We overlooked the pool area and could see the ocean beyond it in the distance. Heading to HH in May for the first time and hoping for a water/marsh view.

You could have a variety of answers here based on the wide range of opinions!!!:teeth:

I've stayed at BWV, VWL, BCV and OKW so far. I guess I'll rank them best to least as far as which resorts have the least issues (and you certainly don't have to listen to me  )

1) OKW--Seems to me that there are really great views here no matter what building you are in. You can hear the buses go by but that's really the only thing I've ever heard.

2) BWV--Most of the time, great views here also (except for that parking lot) BW view is especially nice ;) I've heard people complain about having BW view and being able to hear all the noise below--I heard absolutely nothing when we shut the balcony doors.

3) BCV--There are a lot of nice views here too--almost a tie to BWV except I think that with the landscaping they do at BWV the garden view rooms there seem to have prettier views. However, we had a very nice view of the fireworks from our room!! We could hear buses go by on the road below though--even louder than OKW.

4) VWL--Hate to put this one last, but the views here are all about the same and nothing spectacular. We heard the buses a lot too.
