I wanted to add a Princess meal to our trip but we didn't want to spend 2 credits on Cinderellas Royal Table (we have the basic dining plan) & the Princess Storybook Dining Akershus menu doesn't really sound pleasing to any of us. 1900 Park Fare sounds interesting though, is it just a basic buffet? I know everyones different but did you like it?

We had dinner there in October and had a blast. The food is buffet style and while there were some people who do not like it, my family thought it was good. Cinderella and Prince Charming are there but in fact, the Stepsisters and Lady Tremaine are th featured characters, they are hysterical! Between whining about their inability to snag a husband, trying to weasel a Prince from Snow White (she has 7 dwarfs, she doesn't need the Prince) and bellowing to each other to be quiet they should not have time for interaction, but they do. One tried to teach my DH+GD to curtsy and fell over in the process. one tried to snag the lone man at a neighboring table and of course their Step Mother was disgusted with it all.

We did not like it.
The stepsisters were great, but it was the worst Cinderall we have ever seen.
I also did not like the food.

1900 Park Faire is a must do for our family. First, we actually think the food is excellent. We have read some really bad reviews and each year I am almost expecting the food to be bad, but we have never had a bad meal here. We believe that the dinner buffet is outstanding.

We also think the character interaction is wonderful. We LOVE seeing Cinderella there and the step sisters have added some really FUN moments in our opinion.

It is also really fun to visit the Grand Floridian ~ it is so breathtakingly beautiful.

We do not spend the 2 credits on the castle ~ we always go to the Park Faire and we also always go to Akerhaus, even though we do not care for the food at Akerhaus very much. It is still something that we cannot miss.

I hope this helps:)

We love the dinner buffet, the food is okay but Cinderella and Prince Charming were great. We haven't been for a few years but my daughter loved the mice, I don't think they are there any more. It's much quieter than the CRT and so it was definetly more relaxing.

We're going and desperately want to try that strawberry soup that I keep reading about!

Are the mice there for dinner, or just breakfast? I booked this because of everyone's comments on the stepsisters. My daughter isn't a huge Cinderella fan, but she thinks the stepsisters will be funny. We'll be getting other Princess interaction at Akershus as well.

Our DD enjoyed 1900 Park Fare and so did we. We were in the same situation as you by wanting to have a princess dining experience but not use up two credits. It was great! The food was fine (buffet). There were lots of choices. The characters were great.

We ate there during our trip in December, 2007. It was just alright. While we did think the character interaction was good, it was not great. Prince Charming was not there that evening, so the mice were there. The Step-sisters were a hoot, as well as the Step-mother. My girls loved them. The food was typical buffet, but not much variety. My DH did not care for it at all. He thought it was crowded and noisy. I will dmit it was a bit noisy, but that could have been the oh so, obnoxious children, :( sitting at the table behind us. If you want to see Cinderella, and aren't picky about food, I say go for it. Have a great trip!

My DD12 loved this place because of the stepsisters. And she and I both enjoyed having our pictures made with Prince Charming too! She didn't like the food very much at all though. I found several things I liked, but there are definitely better buffets in the world. We both tried the strawberry soup and liked it but DD12 was confused how this was a soup and not a dessert. :confused3

I ordered a cake for her (just a special mom daughter thing, no birthday) and both the hostess and waiter ruined it being a surprise by just blurting out Oh I see we have a cake ordered here, when I had asked at the desk could it be kept a surprise and she said Oh Yes, we'll keep it a surprise until we bring it out if you want. :rolleyes1 But anyway, DD12 was very excited over her cake and loved it. We didn't cut it until we returned to the room later and it was definitely one of the best cakes we've ever had.

But, DD12 said she'd probably go back here again just for the characters. There's always mac n cheese and chicken strips! And she actually is an adventurous diner, but tends to shy away from salads and there were a LOT of salad type offerings.
