Hi Guys

this is my first time so treat me gently!!!!! pirate:

we are booked for okw & bcv sept/oct this year, this is our first visit to okw so i need to know if there is a good view of a golf hole from a studio, that is also close to a pool.

There are many rooms with a golf course view. You can list that as a request on the reservation.

Also, there are 5 pools at OKW, so none of the rooms are very far from one. If you want to be near the main pool, that might be worth requesting. Just remember, the more requests you list, the less chance the resort will be able to meet all of them or accurately guage what is most important to you.

We had a 2 bed room home right opposite the lighthouse next to the community hall. Looking out from our balcony on 2nd floor it was directly on the golf course and because of the dunes or hills whatever they are called , the golfers were a little close for comfort!! I do not wish to be seen in bathrobe minus make up first thing on a morning munching pastries on my balcony!!! It would be enough to put Tiger Woods off his shot!!!

Be sure to specify golf hole view. If you say golf course view, you may get a fairway view that is mostly covered with trees. This happened to us in building 28, almost no view at all with the trees. They also made the room dark.

I've stayed at OKW several times: it seems to me that the one-bedroom units face the golf courses while the studios generally face the roads. I don't know if that is the case for all the buildings.

OKW has lots of great views of the LBV Golf Course. With 4 pools (Main, Miller Road, Old Turtle Pond and South Point) no buuildings are far from a place to enjoy a swim.

Each building has a studio on each end of the first two floors (except #48 where an accessible GV is on the left end and a few others where there are studios in the center of the first two floors and on the ends of the third floor). Even though the studios are loctaed on the ends of the buidlings, the balconies still face away from the parking areas and towards the same thing seen from the 1 and 2BR villas (Golf course, water, woods). Here is a description of all the OKW buildings.

The better views will be from the higher floors, but even ground level villas have good views of the course.

Enjoy!

Based on personal experience, many DVC members at OKW have had a close up view of my "golf game" from their rooms, patios and balconies. I have had very nice conversations with quite a few fellow members as they were having their morning coffee and I was searching for a ball or hitting from a sand trap.

There is a great view of the golf course from many rooms and playing there is a wonderful way to meet DVC members.;)

i think the pic that doc showed is looking directly at my favorite OKW place.........building 62 -64 they have awesome GV views of the LBV course.............and i think it is that hole that DOC has shown......

Yep- that first photo is from the entry road looking across the island green. Building 64 is on the left and building 15 is on the right. The second photo was taken from a 1BR in building 17 and the last was from around building 26/27 across the course towards the Turtle Pond area (#33/36/37).

On one of our trips, we heard a loud CRASH when in our room. When I investigated the source of the noise, I found that a golf ball had struck our building right next to our living room window. The ball had lodged itself in the bark of the palm tree next to our balcony - about 18 feet off the ground. Someplace I have a picture of that and will post it when I can locate it!

was it a titleist Pro V 1 with a red dot???............cause if it was..............i want it back! LOL

About 3-4 years ago, we had a September stay at OKW. There was obviously a corporate tournament going on. Some real good golfers, and some folks making there first foray into the world of the little white ball. Our porch was very close to a tee box on a hole with water down the right side of the fairway. Some of the language and reactions by those who found Neptunes domain....was HYSTERICAL!!!!! I procured a 12 pack of Anheuser's finest and made an afternoon of it. It was like going to a comedy club.
