We are thinking about going to Vero Beach next year and skipping WDW for the first time this millenium. We have been to VB for a short stay in 2007 in conjunction with a WDW trip. We stayed in an OVIR and had the nice view of the ocean.

I was wondering what kind of views are available with the 1 and 2 BDR villas. I think we are going to need a full kitchen for this trip. We'll stay in a villa regardless of the views available, I was just wondering what they are and where they are. Are they part of the main Inn building or some of the other buildings? Any help will be greatly appreciated. We've been to WDW three times in the past year so we are going to take a break next year and just have a vacation instead of a trip, plus I've put out a bundle of cash in the last year, my wife and daughter went on a Disney Cruise as well...

Hey there Bob,

Really loved your recent trip report. None of the 1 & 2 bdrms are located in the main building. They are located in the villa buildings #12, 14, & 15. It is my understanding that the lock-off 2 bdrms have direct ocean view and I recall at least once having an ocean view from a 1 bedroom. We have an OVIR and a 2 bdrm reserved for 22nd - 27th and I'll be doing some real investigating and documenting of stuff like this. In the mean time hope we can get some view photos posted by others.

There aren't very many 1 & 2 bedrooms with a full ocean view like the OVIR or the Beach Cottages. Guess what 99.99999% of the requests are for the 1 & 2 bedroom units, LOL. I have no idea how the Front Desk CMs stay so nice!

Many of the 1 & 2 bedroom units do have a partial view of the ocean from the balcony, though. Both times we stayed in 1 2 bedroom unit, that's what we had. The good news is that no matter where you end up, you're only a few steps away from the beach. Have fun!

Thanks for the replies and thanks for the compliment on the trip report, I enjoyed doing it. We are planning on probably going around the first week of June 2009. Any idea how likely getting a villa at the 7 month mark will be?

It may help to know the locations of the villas. The 3 outer buildings where the villas are located are the shape of a flat bottomed 'U' with it's bottom toward the ocean. Each side of the 'U' has 2 two bedroom villas on each of it's three stories making a total of 18 two bedroom villas per building. There is a dedicated 2 bedroom units on the top of the 'U' on each side and floor (total of 6 for each building) the rest being lock-off 2 bedrooms.

As one would expect the rooms on the first floor would not have a view of the ocean with the foliage and Beach Cottages in the way. The villas on the top floor that are at the bottom of the 'U' (facing the Ocean) would have the best chance of having that ocean view.

I love the way you speak :lovestruc (in pictures).

Ok, so now, where are the studios located in the U? They must be the balcony on the side of the U closest to the ocean... correct?

No.... I'm confused now... the last time we stayed there we had a 1 bdrm and we had a balcony basically overlooking the mini-golf.

I think building 15 would be your best shot. 12 and 14 have beach cottages in front of them, blocking their view of the ocean. I don't know what room configuration each building has, however rooms 1538, 1539, 1540, and 1541 are all 3rd floor rooms with a balcony view of the ocean.

Did you say pictures???

This is a pic from Cali-Dreaming, showing the ocean front side or the bottom of the 'U'. This side has 2 two bedroom lock-offs. I would guess that the rooms go Studio, 1 bedroom, 1bedroom, studio. You can see the larger balconies out front for the 1 bedrooms and the small balconies around the corner.

This is looking at the studio portion head on...
To the left of the small balcony is the studio's window over the couch. To the right is a 1 bedroom window.

I'm assuming this pattern would repeat it's self on each side. Picture anyone??

Sorry Rob, hard to talk in picture. :badpc: :headache:

Close up aerial of VB Blue shaded squares are where the dedicated 2 bedrooms are.
