viewing wishes after chef mickey's

i'd like to make a PS for dinner at Chef Mickey's (5:30?) then watch Wishes from the contemporary at 7 (late jan.) any suggestions? we'll be 3 adults & 2 small children. we're staying at the POP & are unfamiliar w/ the CR. can we order drinks at the C.Grill & watch from the lounge? is there a beach that we could use? should we just get on the monorail & enter MK & watch from there? i'm looking for the most convenient way. thanks.

You can use the 4th floor viewing deck - it's located at the opposite end of the concourse from Chef Mickey's.

Wishes is best from inside the MK. If time allows you could take the monorail to it. It would be faster to just walk over though.

If your meal lasts until nearly 7, you can also walk out on the deck right on the 4th floor where Chef Mickeys is located according to lots of reports.

I've also read that it is pretty cool to watch Wishes from the ferry. You could catch the monorail to the TTC or walk to the MK to catch the ferry.

In the last few months a policy has been instituted at the California Grill that requires a PS to access the CG as it has been getting crazy up there with so many people hanging out to see Wishes.

We liked watching Wishes from our car in the Contemporary parking lot. This isn't very fancy, but that way my youngest kids (ages 2 & 5), who don't like fireworks could hang out in the car and peek their heads out if they got brave. The rest of us just stood or sat near the car and enjoyed the show.

There are observation decks off the California Grill on the 15th floor. You have to go through a gatekeeper to get up there, but there are ways to manage it. Give it a shot.

If you tell them you want to go up to the deck to watch the fireworks, sometimes they're cool about it. They don't really mind people on the deck so much, so long as they are not clogging up the restaurant. It's a very big deck.
