Viewing Water Pageant from VWL?

Hi DVC members!

Thinking of renting points for a stay at VWL in January. We'll have a 3 year old and a 6 month old with us, and it's likely we'll be "home" early to get them to bed. Is it possible to view the Electric Water Pageant from the balconies of any of the two-bedroom villas? If so, what would I need to request as far as a view and a floor? (e.g., is it "High floor with Bay Lake View?" )

Or, with kids, is it better to just request something close to the main building or boat dock or something like that? I'm such a rookie...

Thanks in advance!

Depends on how high and whether or not the trees are in the way, why not just walk out to the beach?

No guarantee.....some rooms have the trees blocking.

I had an excellent room view and could not see the whole float.

It is well worth the trip down to the beach for 1 night with the little ones.
My DD8 still loves it and still looks forward to that.

I think you should plan on going down to the beach to view the water pageant. I'm not even certain you could see it well from any room at VWL due to the trees.

You'd be lucky to get the slightest glimpse of the lake through the trees. But a full on view of the parade, I doubt it.

None of the villas have a view of the boat dock. The lodge is between the villas and the boat dock.

Most of the villas will just have a view of trees.

Views from pretty much all rooms are partially blocked by the trees. But you can see the lights moving behind the trees and hear the music. It's pretty neat... just not the full-on experience.

I'd request lake-side, floors 2-4. That way you have the option to see it from your balcony if you don't want to head down to the beach.

Thanks, everyone. Hopefully we'll make it down to the beach/dock to view it at least once. It's just that with an infant and a toddler, planning to be up till 9:30 is always unpredictable, so if there was a way that DH and I might be able to see it from our room (perhaps with a glass of wine on the balcony) after the kids are in bed, all the better!

We'll just ask for a lake view and hope for the best...

if you have a double stroller, take it along in case you want to see Wishes or the water pageant and the little get tired. we brought our stroller, rested throughout the day, but at least we all got to see Wishes, or the water pageant together...:grouphug: they grow too fast....
