Hello,

I was wondering if there was any way where I could just pay parking at the TTC and hop on the monorail or any bus to be able to see the extravagant Lobby displays in the resorts without being a guest and without paying a park admission. Not wanting to go into the parks, just love their displays. Especially GF lobby with tree and Gingerbread House.

Thanks for any info. :)

Hi,

Sure, you're welcome to resort-hop as much as you like!

Really? I have only done it as a guest while staying during the time they decorate. Great! I am a Florida resident, I thought it would be a nice outing to see their decorations. Thanks. :).

Just be prepared to not see as much as years past. They seem to be cutting back on the resort decorations.

I think you can also park at one of the resorts free. When you get to the MK parking booths, stay in one of the far right lanes and tell them what you're wanting to do. They'll tell you if you need to pay to park or if you can just park at one of the monorail resorts. Since it's free to park at the resorts if you're just going there for dinner, etc, I'd think this woudl be the same.

During the holliday times it's harder to visit the Resorts without an ADR. So it depends on the day, number of cars already at the Resort and the Cast Member working in the security both at the entrance.

Get yourself to MK, then hop on the monorail and check out the CR, then Polynesian, then GF. Hop off at MK, board a bus to BW or YC/BC. Take the walk around the lake and check out BW, then S/D, then on to YC/BC. Then you can take the bus to AK and transfer to the AKL bus...check that one out. The other resort that is nice is WL...but you can hop on a boat while in the MK area to check that one out.
You could park at DTD and take the bus to the CR and then continue with the way I do it.

Wow, that sounds like a lot of fun. How much time would you estimate this would take?

But here are my suggestions. If wanting to view the resorts on the monorail, just pull up to one of the security gates at any of those resorts and (be thruthful) that's a novel idea that you would like to see the decorations. (We have done this). They will probably give you a time limited pass (to make sure you aren't using free parking while doing a park) shouldn't be a problem if visiting to see decorations. Then if you want to see any resort not on the monorail, do the same by pulling up to the security gate and telling them your intentions. They will allow you to tour that resort also.:thumbsup2

Thanks for all the great tips and helpful information. Having not stayed in Disney at Christmas since 9/11. I was not sure if the security at that time is a little tighter that normal.

Sounds like it will be a good time. We just may have to make a dining reservation at Narcoosee's to end the evening festivities just right. :)

Thanks again.

It can take a few hours or the whole day...depends on how long you hang at each resort. I like to add it to whatever park I'm in that day. But, I've been to WDW a multitude of times, so don't hang out in the parks for huge amounts of time anymore.

As for parking at the particular resort...sure, that's an option. But, you have much more flexibility if you just park at the TTC or take a bus from your resort. You can change your touring plans without having to worry about getting back to that first resort within a certain amount of time. And believe me..once you start touring the resorts, you loose all track of time and get caught up in the sights.
