We have the Blue Bayou Fantasmic viewing package for Friday, April 13, which is also the first night of the new Pixar fireworks. I'm assuming we're wise to stay in place after F! for the fireworks, but I'm wondering what the view will be like. I'm guessing from what I've read that the fireworks show will be along the lines of the 60th, with projections and effects on Main St. and elsewhere. Can anyone who watched that show from the Fantasmic area tell me what to expect? The DL site says there will be projections on the water screens so that's cool, but is there word on the street about any effects that will be only on Main St.?

Would you set aside a second night to see the show again from Main Street? We'll be there for 3 nights and want to catch Paint the Night at least once, too. Just working on my spreadsheet... ;).

Assuming "Together Forever" is something like Disneyland Forever (or really any of the shows that use projections, castle effects, and flying characters), the ROA is an okay viewing option. They do project the images onto the mist screens and you should be able to see the mist screens at the same time as the fireworks (you basically want to have the water between you and Big Thunder, otherwise, you'll have to turn to see the mist screens). You won't really be able to see any of the effects on the castle, the characters flying (you might catch a glimpse of the House from Up as it goes to or back from the castle) or any effects they do on the building (for Disneyland Forever, they had "kelp" balloons that inflated during the Little Mermaid sequence - that was the only major effect that wasn't offered elsewhere).

I would set aside a second night to see the show from Main Street.

I also would plan a second night to view the fireworks from in front of the castle or from Main Street. It will be like a whole new show! The view from the ROA is fine, just different. We've viewed the 60th fireworks and other shows from the BB viewing area and enjoyed the show. The projections differ in the way that projecting onto a water mist screen, like with WOC, differs from projecting onto buildings, like on Main Street. The feel is different: on Main Street you'll be closer to the projections (so the feeling of being immersed in the show is different), the water screens are farther away on the ROA -- but you shouldn't be packed in like sardines in the viewing area, either, so that's really nice, too. The different viewing areas give different experiences and different views. The show designers know this and plan the show accordingly. Different doesn't mean "bad" -- every viewing area has it's advantages and disadvantages -- the show designers want you to see and experience the show more than once and from more than one spot, if possible. So see the show from two different areas and enjoy two different show experiences!

Thanks everyone - I think we'll try to watch from Main Street on the second night of our stay. I absolutely loved the 60th show (including the seaweed that grew from the buildings as well as the snow!). Can't wait to see Pixar Fest!
