I've been to the Disney parks in Florida and California. The videotaping policies are very liberal. I've taken my video camera aboard California Screamin'. Do the Disney parks in Paris have a liberal videotaping policy too? Can you video tape Space Mountain or Rock N Roller Coaster?

There are signs saying no videotaping whilst riding the rides. I'm not exactly sure where I saw them, at the ride or perhaps in the park maps? However I do have a great video from my stills camera of our first trip on Thunder Mountain!

Went to see animagique and your are told before the show starts that no photos are allowed. Thats fine thinks I, I'll just take a video instead. Got my arm tapped somewhat fiercely by a cast member for trying that. Perhaps they should have said that as well.

hi we also experienced the arm tapping in animagique even though the announcement says no flash photography. we videoed the small world ride when we were on it. i didnt actually notice any signs on rides but had a very excited four year old with me who was constantly clambering over my head to get better views of everything, so thats probably why.

i videod on Pirates of the Caribbean, Phantom Manor, It's a Small World, Snow White, Peter Pan, Dumbo, Pinocchio, Autopia and Orbitron in Disneyland Park, and on the Studio Tram Tour in the Studios.

I dont think you're meant to video on any of the rides, but as long as you're discreet about it you can get away with it.

I think some of issue of no videoing is to do with safety. Imagine if a guest lost grip of their camera while on SM2 :guilty:

On Animagique I saw a number being reminded not to video or take photographs. Given the nature of this show I think that is fine since it can distract the performers and spoils the enjoyment of others by showing you some of the "secrets".

Use your own judgement - but i would advise not even attempting to bother trying on animagique or cinemagique - the finger tapping thing also happened to me, and it is quite rude for whoever is sitting behind you! Oh and also on Armageddon you are not allowed to video tape...But rides like Storybook Land, Casey Jr, the train, it's a small world, POC, BTM, Pinocchio, Snow White, Dumbo, Phantom Manor etc can all be taped pretty easily, as long as you are fairly discreet.

I'm glad someone asked this question because I understood you coudn't take pictures at all on the rides and then I saw someone videoing away and wondered about it. I think the flash photography thing in Animagique has more to do with it being a black light show and it can damage the performers eyes if they get a sudden bright flash of light coming at them.

Speaking of flash I'm never sure if I should use flash or not photographing on the rides or the lit parades. There's no way of practicing before you go so you could waste half your time waiting for your flash to fire up - mine takes ages to charge - and get one picture that is over exposed.

What do others do?

On SM2 I would worry wbout loseing my camera, Its not a smooth ride.. I took pictures on Its a Small world and POTC though.

I usually have my camera in a case around my neck . I also worry about losing it like you but I think I'd be too busy hanging on for dear life rather than photographing the scenery! LOL
