Videographers for Escape Weddings

Hey everyone,

Recently I was thinking about adding an outside videographers to our wedding but I'm not sure if it is worth it. I am finding most packages to be around 3 hours/$600-700 and since our whole wedding is an hour, I don't know if we need video of us taking photos (kinda seems silly).

Anyone use one and swear it was the best thing ever?

I really dislike having people near me with a video camera, but would quite like our ceremony (Pavilion) to be recorded as I have a feeling I won't remember it so well. For the reception and DP I'm happy with photos.

I'm going to enquire about the built in cameras in the WP and what the price for an hour's filming in there would be.

STVS video has a number of different packages, including ones for Escape weddings.

We used them and they arrived at the BW just before we got there, taped us arriving, and having some pictures taken with Randy along the boardwalk. Then the ceremony, interviewed some of our guests and got the cake cutting and first dance, then left.

Short, sweet, to the point and they had a sneak peek up w/i 24 hours.

Their prices have probably gone up, but when I received my quote ( in 10/09) the escape package started at $625 and you got:

Invitation open
2 cameras covering ceremony
“Slow-motion Retrospective”
Music mixed throughout video where appropriate
1 DVD copy of completed video
2 hours of wedding day coverage

And then they had different options you can add on for extra $$

I am a professional videographer in NC, and the above package is a pretty good deal. I don't know what they charge for streaming (we charge $125)
but our base package is Ceremony coverage only, 2 HD cameras, 3 copies DVD in High Def, and we get there an hour before to get clips of the bride and groom getting ready. $900. And that's cheap here for quality. I mean, you can get it done for 5 or 600, but I'm not for sure what cameras they are shooting with, and not HD for sure.

Video is becoming more and more popular, but I would suggest the reception as well. Let me know if you have any questions. I would be happy to answer them as best I can for you.

I would avoid STVs - I wasn't all that thrilled with the service We got married 10-12-09 and just got the DVDs last month. In my contract it said we would have them in 10 weeks. Fail! I kept getting the run around from Stan as to why it was taking so long. I am mostly happy with the final video, but not the attitude.

Just to give a differing perspective, I haven't had any problems with their service. They took us last minute despite having a wishes wedding that same day and were pretty much can-do the entire time. They were obviously very comfortable working with our coordinator, our disney photographer and Randy.

I received an email from them 6 weeks after the wedding requesting our songs, and we just got around to sending the songs off this week! We should have the first cut for review within the next week or so.


And if I remember correctly, they charge $75 for livestreaming if you purchase it in addition to a package. But again, that was 2009 pricing.

We're planning a VR (Escape pkg) for April 2011. Would Disney mind if we did our own video? We just got a Sony Handycam and we were thinking of having one of our friends use it to video our ceremony.

I would make sure that our friend knew not to get in the photographer's way of course!

one of our guests filmed the whole ceremony on his personal video camera. We had an escape ceremony in the WP!
