videocamera

I would not leave home without my video camera. As a matter of fact, I would turn around and go get if it was forgot.

I could not miss out on the opportunity to take some great video of our trips to Disney. We are still watching the videos from the last trip and they never get old. It helps us remember the good times.

If you have a miniDV (or other small format) camcorder and a decent bag it is definitely worth taking it to every park at least once on your trip and carrying it around.

I don't think I could stand carrying around a larger camcorder, but storing it in a locker for most of the day sounds like a great idea to me.

We are bringing our new sony minidv (the 19 not the 20) but it is just as small - what do you carry it in?

I got a large waist pack from ebags and love it. It has a mesh pocket on either side for water bottles, a small compartment where I carried my $ and credit cards, another mid size pocket where I carried some snacks for my 2 yr old and other little items, and a large pocket where I carried my bigger than now video camera and digital camera, and spare batteries. I ended up wearing my video camera around my neck-that was a real pain! Its got lots of padding too.

My Zurg! You sure are modest!

DW and I usually carry a digicam in a small camera bag:

Our camcorder in another bag:

Camcorder Bag

And we carry a backpack so that we can consolidate it all if we get tired of carrying it. I loop the camcorder bag over my head onto the opposite shoulder and it is very easy to carry it around that way. There is actually extra room in the camcorder bag where the digital camera could be stored, but we find it more convenient for one person to carry the digicam and another to carry the camcorder.

Just a small VC story.

The first time (2000)I brought my grandkids(then 4, 6, 8) to WDW I took videos of them every day.
The night before our last day I took some quick footage and then had to hope on the mono.
well I forgot to turn it off. So it just kept taking footage inside of the bag and when it got to the end & rewound. I didnt know this had happened so the next day I wanted to get ALL of fantasmic. Needless to say I taped over everything I had recorded for the last four days:confused:
I didnt know until on the drive home I thought we would all look at what we had. Well it turns out we ONLY had Fantasmic. Nothing of my DGDs:(
I now HATE Fantasmic:smooth: LOL.......
and Myself for the fool that I was.
We are bringing them again this year. I will not make the same mistake again!

I have carried my Sony 8mm around and the video makes me glad I did. I filmed several complete rides like Peter Pan and IASW. DD loves to watch them. I wish I could have gotten more, but even the 8mm size camera is too much for me to handle all the time. This trip, hopefully the budget (and DW) will work out and we will have a new miniDV and I plan on filming all the rides I can so we can relive them when we return home.
