We have some home videos and would like to put them on DVD's. We also have a DVD writer. Is there some software or other hardware that will make this process fairly easy? Anyone doing anything like this?
The hardest part of this process is the video capture. I am in the process of purchasing the necessary hardware in an effort to do exactly what you are describing. I have an ATI All-In-Wonder 128 Pro video card that has the ability to do video capture. I recently purchased a Sima Video Color Corrector which is supposed to restore/enhance the video sync signal on VHS tapes. I have tried capturing VHS home movies in the past with limited success. I am hoping that the Sima VCC will eliminate the waviness in the image.
There are plenty of resources on the internet that you might want to check out. One website that has been a good starting point has been www.dvdrhelp.com although there are dozens of sites which specialize in video capture and DVD authoring.
Sorry I don't have more info. Due to a shortage of free time, I haven't yet hooked everything up to try doing the video capture yet. I may have more info in the next couple of months.
