Video ipod help!

ok so i bought a video ipod when I was in Orlando last month but unfortunately the Irish itunes store doesn't sell tv shows or films yet. So I was wondering, for those of you that have video ipods, where do you get your stuff from if not itunes? And do you need software to convert the videos to ipod format, etc? thanks.

there are also a ton of free podcasts on the itunes store, can you see them ? I think more people watch podcasts then TV etc.

you need software that converts video into MP4 or H.264 to play it on your iPod. the best app depends on whether you're using Windows or OSX.

thanks for the suggestions. I can get the podcasts, no problem. I just downloaded software to convert my dvd's to mp4 but itunes said the one I made can't be played on the ipod, and I think I did something wrong because it's just a bunch of flashes, not the piece of film I converted, even though I followed the tutorial. Clearly I'm not very good at this! ps I'm using Windows.
