Video camera advice please

DW has been impressed with the compactness of HD video cameras. I suspect it is also because they take memory cards.
I have liked our current video cam the Sony HC19E for its ease and simplicity.
We still tend to use video camera seperately from compact camera. Taking it in turns which one of us is on videoing duty

Looking for recommendations/experiences of decent home HD video cams ?

I don't have any personal recommendations/advice but saw this HD Camcorder on HUKD earlier. Thought it may be of use! It's reduced from £699 down to £199

Ok we have always had sony camcorders, but bought a hd panasonic one which also takes a memory card-the photos taken with it are fantastic! easy to use and much better than sony
we got ours last yr, so i know they have updated even more than then.
so i would recommend getting a panosonic one

Thanks. It looks a good deal. Not sure about the 10X optical zoom versus the 20X zoom of the Sony

I can't recommend my Sanyo Xcati HD camera enough. It takes SD cards.

I have the first generation one which is pretty long in the tooth now, but results are still fab. My friend has the latest one and he really rates it too.
