Victoria and Alberts

Thanks for your kind words and the encouragement! I was wondering if that was how they got booked so fast. I kept calling and calling until I got the "open" message and dialed "1" right away for English then "2" for V&A. Do you know how long they stay "penciled in"? Do they come off after so long if they don't reconfirm or something?

The alarm is set for 6:50 again tomorrow morning...

I can only speak for how it worked for me and for friends of mine, but prior to the 180 days we were told me were "penciled in" and that we would officially be written in on the 180 day marker. Never had to call back to reconfirm.

Citrico's also has a chef's table. If you can't get V&A's, it is a nice alternative.

Thanks for all the info and support!

Tried again this morning and nothing was available. We've only got one more day left. But I am going to try for the Chef's Table at one of the other places mentioned.

No V&A Chef's Table for us. :worried: Maybe one will cancel and we'll get lucky and get it. I doubt it but a girl can dream, right?

We tried the Chef's Domain at Citricos but the minimum amount is $650. That's a bit more than we would have spent at V&A. I just can't do that one.

Sorry you couldn't get V&A's. Maybe next time. Yeah, I forgot to mention that Citrico's is not a per person charge, but a flat charge for the table no matter how many are there. We have a magical gathering group of 9 doing Citrico's, so its workable for us.

It is my understanding that you can get the CT menu and service in the main dining room; this does have to be reserved in advance. The upside is you are in a much more romantic location; the downside is you cannot see the kitchen operations.

Thanks! I'll have to check into this one. Do you know any more details? What do I ask for when I call, etc...

Have you thought about having Private Dining do a dinner for two on the beach at GF? If you can't do V&As or the Chef's Table, that might be a great alternative. I am pretty sure you can customize your menu, and I've heard it's very romantic, well done, and reasonably priced. I haven't done it personally, though.

Congrats on your upcoming marriage -- he sounds like a great guy!
