HELP! I just called V&A to see when I should start calling for the Chef's table and one person told me I could start calling 180 days out, one told me 181..I know it's not a big difference but if you've ever tried to get resies there, it's a HUGE difference. Does anyone know? I've been trying for 6 YEARS to get in there! help me please?

As far as I know, it's 180 days out. I'm sorry I couldn't help more! I hope you get it this year-V+A's was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC when we were there for our anniversary. We didn't do the chef's table, but from what I've heard and read on this board, it's one of a kind. I would also ask them if on Fridays or Saturdays they have two chef's table seatings. I know that on those days they have two main dining room seatings, so they may do two chef's tables as well.

According to Allears, there is no seating on Wednesday or Saturday nights. There is also only one seating per night.

You may want to see if you can make ressies prior to the 180 day out mark by using the 180+10 scheme. I am not sure on the details on how the 180+10 works or if it applies to the chef's table, but I aim to find out (I'll be trying for ressies myself in a couple of weeks).

Do you have to pay for this, or make a deposit, at the time of making your reservations?

I started calling about 2 days before the 180 day mark, and though they were very nice, I wasn't allowed to make my reservation for the chef's table until exactly 180 days out. I called the very first thing in the morning, and blurted out the day I wanted, and we got it! This was for May, so it isn't peak season... I hope you get it!! We're so excited!!!

Oh, and no, we didn't put down a deposit. They DID ask us to call a week in advance to confirm our reservations. We did have to give a CC #, because they will charge if you don't show.
