I have been researching the chef table. Are there any normal food served during the 10 course meal? my DW doesn't like veal, lamb or wild game with different kinds of wine ,and to have such an exotic meal that would cost us $500, any other suggestions, for our 10 year anniversary meal? I have looked to eat at Jiko, CRT??, Ohana, LeCellier, AP?, and and maybe CG, any other suggestion during our 7 day visit?

I would say if your man is just a steak and potatoes kind of guy, skip Chefs Table. California Grill has great steak, pork tenderloin and has a beautiful view as well. Le Cellier has a marvy mushroom filet mignon and Jiko has a great filet on a bed of white mac & cheese with a red wine sauce. Jiko also has wonderful fish. Citricos is very romantic, has a great steak and is next to Victoria & Alberts so you can still dine at the Grand Floridian.

I would echo everything that Aurora says.

Skip V&A and especially skip the Chef's Table. It just would not be worth it based on the info you've given in terms of your wife's tastes.

I would make a suggestion that Aurora didn't and that would be Flying Fish. Ask to sit at the counter, over by the corner, between the kitchen and the bar. It affords some awesome opportunities for interactions with the Chefs and some great "nibbler samples" on the house. The have a signature strip steak and a wide array of fish offerings.

Flying Fish is definitely on my list of places to eat again this years, which says a lot since the only other places on that list are V&A and Yatchsmen's Steakhouse!

I have to agree with everyone else. My DH and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary at the Chef's Table and, judging by your DW's list, she would not like quite a bit that was served. That said, the chef does ask your likes and dislikes and I'm sure would tailor the meal to please your DW and she certainly does not need to order the wine pairing.
If you can keep an open mind, it is an absolutely unforgettable experience! I had promised myself I would try everything and there really was only 2 things I did not care for. (foie gras and sweatbreads!!)

Boucn Tigger:
They always have some sort of beef tenderloin/filet entree at V&A.. But that said, I agree with the others that it dosen't sound like quite the right spot for you.
Flying Fish, California Grill, Artist Point, or Yachtsman Steakhouse would be fine for an Anniversary dinner.
I think I'd skip O'hana for that sort of special meal---

Hi:
Does anyone have a phone number to reach V&A to make chef table reservations. I wasn't sure if I just call V&A or if there was a direct number.
I am planning on making reservations in May for our 21st anniversary. Me and my husband love fine dining experiences! I just hope I'm not to late for reservations. I also was wondering if you can share the wine pairing. My husband is not a big wine drinker (I love it!) If I am not able to get the chef table does V&A have prixe fix menu and wine pairings?

Mr. Disney, I loved your review when you went last year...awesome! Wow that is an awful lot of courses (and food!) We have invited our oldest daughter to join us (she works at the Grand Floridian) she may feel a little awkward because she knows all those chefs. I hope she agrees to join us!

Thanks everyone for your input and suggestions! :goodvibes

Boucn Tigger, We agree with the OP. There are many wonderful places to dine in elegance for that special occasion. We would like to chime in our vote for Jiko. This was a wonderful experience for us with an incredible ambiance. The food was absolutely amazing especially our flat bread appetizer. They also have a very nice South African Wine selection to accompany your dinner.

Congrats on your anniversary. I'm sure wherever you choose to dine it will be a wonderful evening for you both :goodvibes
