I just got an ADR for my birthday on our trip this winter. Now I just have to convince DH that it's worth it. Any ideas?? He's "kind of" on board, but a bit skeptical....hmmmm.....:confused3

Tell him it's a must do. I am so not a V& A kind of eater. Very plain steak or macroni's for me. But I did it for my husband . It was our 25th Ann. I thought it was so sepcial. He LOVED IT! It's a must do at least 1x. Happy B- Day!

I don't ever think I've run into everyone who thought that it wasn't worth it, lol. I guess that's a sign. I'm really excited...:yay:

Well, of 5 stars, I would give it 4. Very nice, but maybe I was expecting to be overwhelmed. Wasn't quite.
It was very good, but there was more than once that we were looking for the waiter and he wasn't around. Seems to me that we had to ask once or twice for things. That should not have happened at a 5 star restaurant.
Food was very good, but, honestly, we've had as good before.
We would probably do it again, but aren't in a rush. We are doing Artist Point again, which generally we liked as much, though certainly a different experience. I'm glad that we had the DDE card.

We LOVED it. We have been twice, but it is a "must do" at least once. Especially if you get the wine pairings. BUT, don't try to drive after that! ;)
It is a nice experience.

Have him read some of the reviews on the boards--especially those that have pictures. That should help convince him!
Plus--it's YOUR birthday. He should go anyway!!

I just made a reservation there for our January trip. How flexible might they be with the menu? The reason I ask is this -

1) I'm allergic to crab, so that only leaves the buffalo for an appetizer for me - not sure if I want to go that way.
2) There's a "fish" course, but my adult d doesn't eat fish (or shellfish).

Would they be willing to offer alternatives? Most high-end restaurants I've been to will do so even on a tasting menu.

Thanks!

They will call you, sometimes more than once, to see what allergies you have. They are VERY flexible and wonderful there about accommodating needs.

We have gone twice for our anniversary and are looking forward to doing it again this year! It is a wonderful experience!!! Enjoy!

Just tell him how romantic you would get later if you ate at V&A.
