I would love to hear all of your opinions on the Vibram FF shoes. I have friends who love them and friends who hate them. What has your experience been? I overpronate and wonder if these shoes would be helpful to me.

I own two pairs - bikilas (pink and orange and have had since about February) and komodo sports (black and gold and have had this since late July). I think the komodos are actually men's, even thought they make the exact same ones as women's.
I love them. To me, they are beyond comfortable and I wear them just about every day.
I don't really use them to run in, which is technically what they're made for, but a lot of walking around school. My feet have never hurt after wearing them.

On the downside, unless you have the special socks, they smell bad.

Lots of people love these shoes, but realize they have absolutely no support and do not correct the overpronation, like support shoes do.
If you decide to try them, you have to work into them very slowly to run. You want to start running about a quarter of a mile in them and slowly work your way up to whatever distance you want to run. If you just switch from your current shoes to these and do the same distance, there is a high probability you will end up with shin splints or a stress fracture.

I think they are as ugly as crocs. They are so trendy right now that people are just wearing them to wear them, and think they look cool.

I often ask people who have them on how they like them for running, and I would say about 90% of the people say "Oh, I dont run, I just wear them because they are comfortable"

Which is fine I guess:confused3 I just dont get it.

I seriously overpronate as well, and these are not supportive enough. I tried them on and could barely get into them, which was annoying to start with, and I actually found them to be very uncomfortable.

I need a more cushiony, supportive shoe that is light weight for running. I prefer to stick to my Brooks or Asics for running.
