I am tempted to bite the bullet and get the Universal Studios "Front of the Line" passes for my family's trip to CA in February. We are going the 18th - 22nd, and have Universal planned for Tuesday.

I have heard that Tuesday is the least busiest day for Universal, but it is also Presidents Day week, and we really want to have fun and experience everything Universal has to offer.

Anyone ever get "Front of the Line" passes? Anyone order tickets from Viator.com? Their price is $128/person for tickets with FOTL.

Any advice?

We had season passes this past year so we didn't need FOTL passes because we went often enough. However if your really hate waiting in line, or only have a day or two at Universal I would say they are worth it. There is a separate queue for FOTL passholders at both the rides and shows. While we waited for up to 45 minutes for the tram tour for example FOTL had less than a 5 minute wait.

Do you know anything about the VIP tour? We are considering doing that, and if we decide not to, definitely the FOTL passes.

The VIP tour looks really neat, and we only have 1 day at US.

The VIP tour is expensive and from I can see- worth it! You get a personal tour guide to take you both into the back areas regular visitors don't go, plus they escort you to all the rides and shows where you have FOTL privileges. If you search the forums for it you will see a few posts from people who have done it.

Universal is a lot of fun- and not just the rides- they have an area at the front of the park where actors hang the second story windows and talk to each other and the crowds- and it reminds you of TV shows you have seen of NY many years ago, there is an area that resembles England (find Sherlock Holmes' shadow,) an area that is made to look like Paris- where the employees dress as French policeman and talk to you in French. There are tons of photo ops- my dd took a picture on the scooter in front of the flower stand and it does look like she is in Europe :thumbsup2
Have fun!

Tuesday Feb 18 will be very, very slow.

The FOTL is good for one entry into each attraction. If you plan your day well you won't wait in line for anything more than 20 minutes. Most attractions will be less than 10. See the Studio Tour late in the day and there will be no line at all.

The VIP tour is well worth it. If you can afford it go for it!

We did FOTL in October 2012. Not that busy at the park then, but since we only had one day at the park we did FOTL. More than the standard one day ticket but I thought it was worth it. I also bought the FOTL passes from Viator. If you go through Viator might want to do a google search of "Viator discount code" or something to that effect as there are often codes good for small discounts on tickets purchased through Viator. Also, purchasing online through Viator will give you a voucher that you must redeem at Universal Studios. The windows for redeeming the voucher are to the right of the entrance gates (as you face the gates). Have fun!

We decided to go ahead and get the FOTL tickets. While that week may be slow it is also Presidents Day week, and from what we have heard, N.Cal schools are out for the week.

We want to make sure we really enjoy this trip, as it is the last DL trip we have planned while DS is still in high school.

I am excited!

I think you will have a great time! And if it makes you feel better- we are outside of Sacramento and only have the 3 day weekend- no full week for us....

I think we made the right decision.

DS is a shopper, and I know he will want to explore the City Walk.

Having the FOTL passes will help us zoom through US quickly and give us more time to go to City Walk.

It will be our 3rd time in Universal Studios and first time since the Transformers ride was introduced. I know DH and DS will want to go on that ride and the Simpsons ride at least twice, so the FOTL passes will allow us to go through the main entrances at opening and the FOTL entrance in the afternoon.
