I have ADR for Via Napoli for the evening of my daughter's B-day (she'll be 2.) She loves Italian food and so does the rest of the family so I thought that would be a great time for us to enjoy an Italian meal. The menu looked pretty good at Via Napoli so I set up our dinner ressies there but I'm a little hesitant now, wondering about the DDP. DH loves pizza and he eats a TON of it in one sitting. I'm afriad we're going to get in there and he's going to not have enough to eat if he just gets a single pizza, which is what his 1TS credit will cover. Should I switch to Tony's or Mama Melrose to avoid this? I don't want him to be disappointed.

Never eaten at Mama Melrose but just ate at Tony's. I've tasted better pasta from a jar. We will never go to Tony's again.

I visited Via Napoli last week but did not eat there because we already had an ADR an hour later at Tutto Italia right next door. My impressions of the menu and the food from what I saw looked very nice. The only possible drawback is the place is a bit loud and does have an echo effect in it. But then again, most restaurants I've been to in WDW are loud. :thumbsup2

Ate at MM this year - food without red sauce was fine/acceptable. Their red sauce was really poor. I'd go back to MM, but not for Italian food per se.

Have not eaten at the others, but I wouldn't go to an Italian place at WDW with high expectations.

I really dont understand how a restaurant can muck up sauce - it's really not that difficult to make. My guess from MM is that it is pre prepared heated jar type sauce and not made by them.

Tony's is off our list.. The food is very poor. Mamma Melrose is on our regular list as they have pretty good food, not the best, but good for DHS. Tutto is on our regular list and is definitely good. Via Napoli from what I have seen on the menu and description should be good if the execute it well. We are going there this weekend, so will know better then. :cool1:

We've eaten at Mama Melrose twice for the Fantasmic! package and never enjoyed our food. It's ok for DHS, but we feel that's because the only good place there is the Brown Derby. If I were spending my money on your choices, I'd try the new Via Napoli.

You also might try Tutto Italia; we're going to be trying it for the first time this October. :thumbsup2

MM was bad in my opinion
Tonys is what it is Pizza place quality with a great atmosphere but I find this by far better then MM
Tuto is not italian food but ok for what it is and by far not worth what they charge so do not expect what it should be in the prices listed.
I would expect the same from Via as Tuto but if the pizza is good it will most likely be the best of all if you are on the DP if not do not see it being worth the OOP price. I am from NYC I can get good Pizza so opinions on what it is worth will vary.
I would choose based on your likes... The best value for the DP is Tuto but if you have pizza lovers Via looks good if you want atmosphere Tonys or if you want bad food and no atmosphere MM :lmao:

I liked Mama Melrose the best. Tony's was ok... nothing i have wanted to repeat anytime soon. I haven't been to Via Napoli, but i'm not overly excited to try it. I don't know why that is.

While we enjoy Tony's and Mama Melrose I am so excited to eat at Via Napoli's because it is new and has had some excellent reviews...the thought that WDW finally has a great pizza is too much for me to pass up

I haven't eaten at Via Napoli, but if Tutto is any indication, hopefully it will be good. I really liked Tutto's and have made reservations for the next trip.

I've eaten at MM, but can't really remember it, which means it was neither great nor bad.

I ate at Tony's last trip and it wasn't very impressive. It fell under the category of "there aren't many TS places at MK without characters" so my family tried it, but we are not planning on going back this trip.

I'm excited to eat at Napoli. I'm sure you'll have enough to eat, dont forget the bread, you can always ask for more. I doubt you would get more pizza at Mama Melrose. My DH got it and it did not look filling. I got the steak which was ok. Tony's was filling, my DH got the pizza there also, again didnt look like much and he ate it all. I got the eggplant stack w/ pasta and it was too much for me to eat. We were very happy with Tony's despite the reviews, which had kept us from trying it but we reallly liked it!! As for Italian though, Tutto in Epcot is amazing and is the value of a 2TS, for a one TS credit. Amazing food, service, atmosphere, and value. It's my favorite in Epcot but we're trying Napoli, looks great! Go for Napoli!!

would i eat at MMelrose again? No
Tony's again? Yes
Tutto? at the top of the list
Napoli? cant wait!

Never eaten at Mama Melrose but just ate at Tony's. I've tasted better pasta from a jar. We will never go to Tony's again.

I agree totally, Tony's is not worth it!
Go with via napoli, the group that runs it has a restaurant here in NYC and its good!

OK, you all have me feeling a little better about the decision. Thanks for weighing in. :thumbsup2

We ate at MM 3 years ago (Fantasmic package) and I just can't remember anything about it. I think we thought it was fine but it's just not memorable. I'm excited about trying a new restaurant! :goodvibes

Go for Via Napoli...it's a special occasion so you should all enjoy a nice meal. If DH is still hungry afterward, well, that's what your snack credits are for :thumbsup2

After all, it's not like you can't find any good counter service in Epcot!

Mama Melrose is great. Sure there are better Italian restaurants, but we've always enjoyed the food there. I'm also a little bias as HS is my favorite park and I love the location of MM.

I wasn't a big fan of Tony's. Food was just ok. Restaurant was cool though.
