so i've got reservations at both these places on the same night - different times. via napoli at 4:30 and la hacienda at 8:15. one of the reservations must go.

which would you keep and which would you cancel? reasons would be great :)

I think it depends on 2 things! 1 being what type of food you prefer and 2 what type of places you already have booked. I LOVE both types of food usually italian would win BUT I have 3places booked already that I could be eating italian so I didnt want a 4th! Plus chips and salsa empandas and margaritas sound like a good time!!!:cool1::woohoo:

I voted for Via Napoli mainly bc we just went to Italy and had the most fantastic pizzas while there, and I'm hoping it's the same at Via Napoli :goodvibes We have reservations for there during our upcoming trip, but I'm also going to try to score a dinner at La Hacienda to check it out & see Illuminations. If it's during Illuminations that you have the La Hacienda ADR, I'd keep that one, as I bet the view alone will make it worth it! I'll have to report back after our trip though about the view!! ;)

it also depends on if you are on the DDP...La Hacienda does NOT accept the DDP....so i voted for Via Napoli..beacuse they do accept the DDP!

I have both booked for our Nov trip, if one had to go I would get rid of VN

La HAcienda does accept DDP so don't base your decision on that :)

I would actually keep both. Have pizza early then apps and dessert/drink at La Hacienda :thumbsup2

I have booked La Hacienda for the IllumiNations viewing.:)

The Lagoon view does give La Hacienda an advantage IMHO.:)

I just booked La Hacienda online for my December trip and it states "Dining Plan Not Accepted" on the reservation.

Is the online info just not "up to date"?Thanks.:)

i hope we can get some clarification on this....the official WDW site says it does NOT accept DDP...would love to give this place a try in Dec., ....but only if they are ideed accepting the DDP!

There is conflicting info. re: whether or not La Hacienda is accepting the DDP.

The official WDW website states they are NOT.
copied off the site:
La Hacienda de San Angel

Old World hospitality abounds at La Hacienda de San Angel. Indulge in the smoky flavors of southern Mexico while fireworks burst above World Showcase Lagoon.

Location: Epcot
Price: $$ ($15 to $35.99 per person)*
Cuisine: Mexican
Dinner: 4:00PM- 9:30PM (does not include Characters)
Dine Plan: Dining Plan not accepted
Menus: Dinner Drinks

While the DIS states they are.....

so has anyone actually used the DDP there yet?
Or spoke to a CM that confirmed they accept the DDP??

thanks!

Not sure how better we can clarify it for you :confused3

it is accepting DDP and the website is not up to date

I've haven't tried either yet, but looking forward to both in a few months. If I had to choose... would probably choose Via Napoli, since it's hard to get a decent pizza at home.

The website is incorrect. La Hacienda accepts DDP. One credit per person, and the entrees intended "for two" must be ordered by two persons.

Just to expand, this has been verified by both DISers who have visited the restaurant and used DDP as well as from Disney themselves in the information Blog post regarding it openening.

Thank you both for the info.
now to decide if we want to do Tokyo Dining or La Hacienda:confused3

thanks again!:goodvibes

Via Napoli is FANTASTICALLY good...great apps, great pizza and great desserts. (and the Rosa Regale & Moretti beer are not too shabby either, lol.)

Will be trying La Hacienda in November.

I would choose Via Napoli, but probably not for a reason that's going to help you ;) I just don't have a lot of interest at eating at La Hacienda on vacation b/c where I live we have SO much access to very good, authentic Mexican (multiple regions too), as well as Tex-Mex, that it's not something I feel the need to experience at WDW. I prefer to go for something less typical to my everyday life. Add to that, I know what that kind of thing costs me at home too well, so it's harder for me to choke down the prices :rotfl: But that's just my own weirdness, don't ask me why when it's no different than any of the other markups around the World I happily pay for. Now don't get me wrong...I will be stopping at La Cava to have an app and one of their mixologist variety margaritas, but for a meal I'd rather try something else.

The restaurant does look beautiful though, and the menu sounds tasty! If I wanted to see Illuminations during dinner, I would choose to dine there over any other at Epcot.
