No. Never. Not at any restaurant. The DDP is very strict on the "entree" part.

Are you saying that on the DDP Via Napoli allowed 2 servings of an appetizer to be subbed as an entree? Because I have not heard one report that anyone can deviate one tad if they use any DDP in this restauant.

Agreeing. That'd be the first report I've heard in YEARS of reading here that something like that happened at VP.

If it did happen on the DDP, it was an aberration. OP I certainly would not expect this to occur.
As everyone else has said, it is also my experience that Via Napoli is extremely strict with the DDP rules

I wonder if the is the case. I only commented because without clarification, you know there may be that person who is going to ask for two servings and that it be the entree. better to make sure we know.

VN is generally not a good DDP value; it becomes less so if you sub in an appetizer (if they even let you). Consider going OOP here.

Via Napoli is very strict on the dining plan. Unless you're paying separately for it, I doubt they will allow it. You might get a server who'd do it but I bet others won't. It's a terrible value to do that anyway, so unless you're on free dining I'd just pay for the calamari.
