Via Napoli and sharing

I have read previously that Via Napoli was more strict about sharing. My mom and I will have the Delux Dining plan but neither one of us could eat app, entree, and desert from here by ourselves. Has anyone had any experience in sharing 1 dining credit and splitting the meal?

No recent experience, but in the past you haven't been able to do this on the dining plan there.

Highly unlikely. You either need to pay OOP, use the credits and just not worry about eating it all, or choose another restaurant.

Historically, Via Napoli has been very strict about not allowing those on the dining plan to share. They have required all DDP members to use a credit.

What do yall think about using 1 DxDP credit. Order app, entree, desert and drink. Pay OOP for an additional app, drink and possibly desert. Surely they arent going to police and monitor who eats what after it is delivered to the table. If they play food police, Ill just eat somewhere else.

If you have 2 people that are on the DxDP (or DDP) then they have historically required both people to order and use credits. They do not allow people to share food on the dining plan.

It is a weird one for sure. If this is a concern, skip it. Each restaurant has the right to enforce their rules

I think we will just skip it. Ive also read reviews of slow service and rude servers. Its also my money, my choice.

We've had dining reservations with a group where some were on the dining plan, and some paid cash. I don't see the problem with that. They can't force you to use a dining credit. If you only had one TS credit left and two people were dining at Via Napoli, of course they'd take the one credit, and one would pay OOP.

They don't have a problem with using one credit and one paying OOP. The problem they have is using one credit and two people eating just what the credit provides. It has to do with how they are reimbursed from Disney, and my guess is, it's not as cost effective for them as people who aren't on the dining plan. So if they don't require the 2nd person to buy something, they're really losing money on that table.

I've gone to via with a friend....my friend paid OOP and i used the DP. Done this on multiple occasions. Even recently! It has never been an issue with me OP! I wouldnt cancel, their pizza and pasta are out of this world! for dessert im in love with the tiramisu. one of the best i've ever had!

But OP doesn't want to do one DDP, one pay OOP, which as you said, VN has no problem with people doing. They want to use one dining credit to feed two people. Via Napoli is notorious for not allowing this.

It doesn't. The ONLY pizzas available on the dining plan are the individual pizzas. You can't combine credits to order a larger pizza.

Quite honestly, VN is a poor use of dining credits if only pizza is ordered. A party of 4 could pay out of pocket for a huge pizza big enough to feed all 4 there for less than $50.

If at least one person is using a DDP credit, everyone is expected to order something (and not just a drink). The DDP person can only order an individual pizza, indivisible, with liberty and justice for only the DDP user.

Yes, totally agree with this. If all you want is pizza, its a lot wiser to pay oop for the pizza at via and use the DP credits some place else.

Thank you all for your replies. The most useful information was that the DDP only covers the individual pizza.
I have decided to just pay OOP for this meal. Im still thinking 2apps, 1 individual pizza and 2 tiramisu ... if tiramisu is at the via walk up window I would just do that- I want the dessert more than the pizza
