Can anyone PLEASE explain to Why VH cant give me a straight answer to the following question. Why can i book a holiday online today and upgrade to PE (inbound only) for £86pp more, but if i try to upgrade the same flight over the phone on a holiday ive already booked then its £300 pp. I've checked prices, fuel charges etc, but they are the same as when i booked. When i told the lady on the phone her answer was "No way would it be £86 online" She said, did i input in the same hotel and excursions as when i was getting a quote, when i said i did, all but the hotel was different because our one is not on the system, she said that would be why then:headache:So,does that mean your flight price depends on what hotel you book?
You see this all started last week when i spoke to a very nice gentleman who said, if i wanted to upgrade, instead of phoning all the time keep checking on VH by doing a holiday quote, and that would show upgrade prices as they can change daily.
Any answers that will calm my blood pressure?

It is possible that the £86 deal is a promotion to get people to stay at that particular resort but to be quite honest VA (and by association VH) are notoriously bad at this stuff so it wouldn't surprise me if it is a crew up.

Honestly, I cross my fingers and hope I don't lose my booking every time I have to go through VA phone operators. I much prefer to book online then just leave it alone.

That seriously will be it. You're not looking at just the flight price, you're looking at a total package price. My bet is: the more money they make on the hotel as part of the package, the cheaper the "upgrade" price so that it works out as the same amount of cash in Virgin's pocket.

I await the reply to my carefully worded email with anticipation:rolleyes1
