Hi all! VGF is not a home resort of ours, but we would like to stay in December for DS's 6th bday. We are currently booked at BW. What is the probability we will be able to transfer over to a 2 bedroom at VGF for early December?,we have 3 sons: 5, 2.5, and 8 mos! So MK is a necessity! Thanks! Dates are dec 7-12, sun-fri

All depends call member services at the 7 month mark and you can wait list it if not available and they will cancel the be when it becomes available if it does. No one can give you and instant answer. You just never know.

First week of Dec is highest DVC demand week of the year. Near park resorts are usually booked before 7 months out. This will be VGF's first year in which the attempt at 7 months by non-owners for that week can be made but probable it will follow same pattern as other near park resorts and thus your only chance may be wait listing.

You will also have an issue of how to make the change even if you see something open. To do it on-line at 8 a.m. exactly 7 months out if you see an opening, you will need to first cancel existing reservation before making the new one if you want to use the same points, and there is a real risk that any opening at VGF you might see at that time could disappear while you are cancelling BWV, and thus you would risk ending up with no reservation. Calling to make a change is safer but you cannot call until 9 and by then any opening is more likely to be gone.

I think you have a good chance at getting part of the week, not sure if you'll get the whole week. VGF hasn't been behaving exactly like the other DVC. The studios are gone first, followed by 1bd, then 2bd. I think it's because of the high point cost.

Your best shot is a dedicated 2bd lake view, standard views go first. And you'll want to do this at exactly 7 months.

I feel like we have seen a thread that says that most of the dedicated week rooms are reserved for this time of year - I think it will be one of the hardest weeks to get EVER if you don't own there...if you have the points to walk even a day or two in addition to your BW room, I think it would help you.

I am hoping for a two bedroom also, but our dates are a little later. Dec 17,18, 19. We are booked at BWV too and will happily stay there if we can't switch.
