VGF and Owner Booking-Is It Any Better?

I have plans to book a September Labor Day weekend and week for 2016. I am wondering has it gotten any easier for current VGF owners to book right at the 11 month timeframe?

Our 35th anniversary is this year on 9/6. Right at the 7 month mark I was able to get a lake view studio for 9/5 to 9/9. Then about a month later I was able to add 9/10 as well without wait listing.

I do not think owners would have a problem during that time frame.

I don't think we'll really know until people start wanting to book October - December 2016. I managed to get both last year but the October trip only after someone walking canceled the first day I needed and the December one by walking it myself. Hopefully things will get better...

I can't comment on September but I just booked Easter at 11 months no issues whatsoever in any room type

Most of September, including time around Labor Day, is a low DVC demand time, and getting a VGF studio should not be an issue if you book as an owner 11 months out. The times when the 11 month window have become an issue are during DVC's high demand period of a the year from late Sep to Marathon weekend in Jan. The times most at risk are the highest DVC demand times of the year, particularly first two weeks of Dec, Dec 23-Jan 2, and time around Thanksgiving, Marathon weekend, Columbus Day weekend, the weekend after Columbus Day, and the weekend in first part of Nov that has the Food & Wine race. The DVc demand for those times makes makes the DVC demand for MLK, Presidents' Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4, and Labor Day look like the slowest of off seasons.

Same for me in regards to Easter 2016 with no issues which also seems to be a rather busy season.

I'm hearing great results with owners booking! I'm not worried about December as we never travel in that month. I'll post back on my success ( or not) with my September booking.
