When can you start booking VGC? and for what dates? We are thinking of staying there in October thanks

No one knows -- it is supposed to be before the end of the year. VGC points (regular points not developer) won't be available for any stay until after the units are declared. If you have developer points or other DVC points you can use, you may want to book a regular room at the Grand Californian while you can since you will no longer be able to do that after 12/31/09.

I don't think it is scheduled to open until the end of November 2009.

I thought I read somewhere that booking will start at the beginning of June.

Booking is supposed to start on June 7 according to Quality Assurance. Opening Day is scheduled for November 30, 2009. Regular hotel rooms at GCH can be stayed in on points until 12/31/2009 and we have many reasons to believe that it won't be available on points after that.
