So I know this might seem like an odd question but I am trying to find out how close they are to selling out at the VGC's? I noticed on my recent add on, Feb. 2010, that I had interest in Unit #22, and my last purchase, in April 2009, I had interest in Unit #10. Does anyone know how many total Units there are at the VGC to sell, and did they start with Unit #1? Or if anyone just knows the answer to how close they are selling out that would be great too. :confused3
Thanks....:)

We purchased at VGC in February and "our" unit is 23A. My recollection is that there are 46 two bedroom units and 2 three bedroom villas for a total of 48 units. The "units" are for accounting purposes since the two bedroom units divide into one bedroom and studios.

My guide just confirmed with me that the VGC was in its final phase for selling. If there are 48 Units and they are on 23 then that would be only 50%sold. Does anyone know anything more about this final phase or if they have indeed sold more than 50%??? :confused3 Thanks.

I don't think we can draw anything from the unit#s. When we bought last May, we bought into unit 3A. We just got our paperwork for our add on - in unit 3A.

Thank you for the information Snurk71, that helps me out. If you bought last year after I did and you bought into Unit 3A then they indeed are not going in order. I really want to do an add-on (again) and if they truely are in the last phase (meaning they have a small amount left to sell - like 10% or so) then I really want to jump in and buy more before they are sold out, but if they have a lot left to sell then I would wait until next year. Thanks for the info, it all helps me in figuring this out.

We just added on 100 points at VGC and FWIW, our guide told us they are really pushing to finish selling the property so they can be start selling Hawaii. They're having a special members weekend on site during Easter weekend and it's hoped they'll be able to finish sales then.

Thanks catislander.... I guess if I really want to add-on again then now might be best, especially where I can still get 09 points with no dues. Congrats on your add-on, it is a beautiful Hotel and we just love it sooo much, if you haven't stayed yet I am sure you will love it too, and if you have stayed then you know where I am coming from.:woohoo:

VGC is still really at an attractive price point too - we only paid $97 for 50 pts. I think it is a couple dollars cheaper at 100 ($95) and 125 ($93) pts too.

That's a hard price to beat, especially if you plan on doing DL fairly regularly and not solely planning on using VGC pts at 7 month booking at WDW.

We've only ever been to DL -- even though our original contract is at AKL. Grand Californian is our favorite place, my DD calls it the "beautiful hotel." We live in SoCal and do Disneyland at least every six weeks or so and wanted to own where we go. We got our new points at $97 per for 100 points with a guarantee that if the incentives this weekend are better they will rewrite the contract.
I just got off the phone with MS and was making reservations for early December. I could only get one studio instead of the two I wanted. I think the 11-month window is going to be absolutely necessary at VGC. Soooooo, I say add-on while you can.

Its not an odd question at all.

Based on my experiences with deeds for the WDW DVC resorts, the Unit number cannot be used as an indicator of how much a resort has been sold. First of all, a "Unit" is not the same as a villa. It may contain one or more villas, such as one or two two-bedroom villas, or one grand villa. Second, DVD does not release and use Units in a numerically sequential order. For example, at BLT, 129 Units numbered 2A through 54C have been declared, but Units 5A, 20B, and 42B have not yet been used. In addition, DVD skipped to Units 82A to 89A when it declared some of BLT's grand villas for the DVC. And third, some Units might have over 98% of their points sold, while other Units may have only a few deeds assigned to it.

I have been tracking sales for BLT, AKV, and SSR by reviewing the public records filed by Disney at the Orange County (FL) Comptroller's website. Based on these records, I know how much each resort is sold and also how much has been declared for the DVC membership. Unfortunately, I have not been able to retrieve the same data for VGC from OCC's counterpart in California. I can see that a VGC deed has been recorded, but I cannot view the actual deed so I don't know how many points have been sold. If anyone can tell me how to access the VGC deeds, I'd be more than happy to compile data on its sales.
