Hello,

For those of you who know the Grand CA hotel location well, can we just walk right to Downtown Disney from the hotel? Or is it a bit of a walk? Is it right there adjacted to the hotel or do we have to walk around the whole thing? The reason I ask is because my mom is in a wheelchair so I'd like to know if it is doable without getting her in a car.

Also, I heard there is a special back entrance for guests of the hotel to get into CA Adventure? Is that right by the hotel too?

I know people here always say everything is walking distance from the hotel but with a wheelchair, a block is too much for my mom so I am trying to figure out true distances (10 feet versus 1000 feet...).

Thanks for any help! Rod

This is an aerial showing the GC and the entrances in relationship to DTD and the parks that might help you. It is from the sticky on the DL board with info and maps.

I love the GC and it is by far the closest hotel to the parks. Plus it is a beautiful place to stay.

Enjoy your planning and your trip!

The picture does not show the Grand Californian Villas - these are being built beyond the pools, I believe that would be the bottom of the picture shown above.

The Lodge will be closer to DTD than the Villas. That may or may not be what you are concerned about...

We just got back from the GC hotel. We were an elevator ride away from DCA. It honestly took us about 2 minutes to get their from our room. We entered right at the entrance of the Grizzly Water ride. As the previous poster stated, they also have rooms above Downtown Disney. Our room was further from Downtown Disney, since we were above DCA. I would say everything was less than a block from the lobby, but I do not know about one end of the hotel to the other. Good luck!!:)

The GC backs right on to downtown disney. There is one entrance that takes you directly to downtown disney and a seperate entrance that gives direct access to california adventure. Yes it is absolutely doable without ever getting into a car. My fav park is DL and always will be!!!!:lovestruc

DL is so compact that it makes walking everywhere a real treat. I love DL.
