A thank you to all that served, in peace time and in war. Your sacrifices have ensured the liberties and freedoms we all enjoy today.
I am remembering my father on this day. He fought in Korea and was attached to the 7th Division, 32nd Regiment, Heavy Mortar Company. He rarely spoke to anyone about the war, yet he would recount one memory to me often. After a bloody fight, he sat atop a hill eating his rations. Laying next to him were the bodies of six of his friends that were lost during the fight. This memory would haunt him throughout his life -- he re-lived it in his dreams weekly.
Dad - may you have found peace on the other side.
