Hi! We are heading to the Fort in 2 weeks and are tossing around whether to upgrade to a Premium site or stay at a preferred site. We have several questions that can sway us either way and are hoping some one has the answer.

1.Which sites have better access to the playground and pool the preferred or premium site?

2. Does anyone know if there is a Disabled Veteran discount, I have heard two stories about this discount from two separate cast members. Shades of Green said there is a Veteran discount for all Disney reservations but when I call the main number the know nothing about it. They seem to actually avoid it! FYI I am not eligible for the full military discount, I am not a 100% disabled so I do not qualify!

3. Finally, I am a disabled veteran, would I be better off making a request to be better situated at these sites due to my disability and the proximity to these locations? Do they have handicapped sites at the Fort?

Thanks in advance for all your answers! Can't wait for our trip down there, only 15 days and a wake up!

Thank you for your service, sir/mam!

Wish't I had answers for your questions, but somebody smarter than me will be along soon with those answers.

Enjoy your stay!

The "Premium Sites" (600) will put you closer to the Meadows pool and the activities there. The preferred sites (100-200) will put you closer to the Settlement and the Marina which gives you better access to the boat to the MK.

The Premium sites have much larger concrete pads and depending on your needs that may be the best for you. I don't think any sites are designated "accessible". They however do that at the cabins. If you use a wheelchair I personally think you would be much better off with Premium since the Preffered sites have more sand and are more narrow pads.

Can't address the discount issue for you, hopefully someone else will chime in.

Besure you have your "accesiblity needs" listed on your reservation and it should be done through the special "Disabilities" phone number. Also call about 5 days before your arrival to remind them. (407) 939-7807

I know of no special discounts at FW for disabled Vets.

SOG is run by the DOD and outside of it's location and selling attraction tickets and Disney merchandise, really is independent of Disney, hence the conflicting information you are getting. If you have contacted CRO and they know nothing of a campground discount for disabled vets, then that is the information you need to go by, not something SOG tells you.

Does the Room discount apply to campsites at the Fort?

Yes if they have sites available. Military Rates are hard to come by. This time of year you may find them available. We used the 40% discount on a premium spot last November. Right now they are only available through June but we're hoping they extend to the rest of the year.

You may also want to check out the disabilities section on WDW. They were also very helpful when you call as long as you are patient. They don't always seem to know the answer and have to transfer you to the right spot.

Good luck and have a safe trip.
