Very very unimpressed with Arabian Nights

I went to it tonight for the first time. What a disappointment. The food tasted like airplane food. And can they be any more chintzy with the portions? My mashed potatoes looked like they were scooped up with a tea spoon.

The sound system was terrible, and made it almost impossible to make out the dialog. The horses were very fun to watch... for about 20 minutes. Then it just got very VERY boring. No real plot or much of anything to get your interest level up. After about an hour I sat there wishing I was home watching the NBA playoffs. I was very impressed with the theatre, and I feel it has so much better potential then the production they're putting out there. To charge $50 for this is an absolute crime (not what I payed fortunately).

While I agree the plot of the show could have been better portrayed we found the food to be better then expected and enjoyed the horses very much. We had a awsome waiter also.

I had a bad experience with this place a few years back. I was there with my son who is a vegetarian. We called ahead to make sure they had veggie entrees. The soup had a meat broth base. The waiter tried to convince him to eat it saying it was only "a little meat". He threw a second salad at him calling him a "rabbit". The veggie entree was a frozen stoffers vegetarian lasagne (heated but right out of the box). We were so angry at the waiter, I don't even remember the show. Of course we left very little tip and I complained in a letter to the management after we got home but never heard one word back. So much for Arabian Nights!

Thanks for the heads up on this show! I always wonder what these "off-Disney" shows are like. I will make sure to avoid this one (especially since I'm vegetarain--yikes! I would have a fit!).

I got in free on hospitality night, and I felt ripped off. The food was gross - and I'll eat almost anything. The show was... sort of boring. It might be good if you REALLY REALLY like horses. The lady sitting next to me kept exclaiming "Wow, it takes a lot of training to get a horse to lay down!"... and that may be true - but it doesn't make it any more exciting to watch.

Try Medieval Times, it's much better.

We have been to Dixie Stampede at least 4 times and it is very nice- and yes, it is an "off Disney show" as well! The food is good, very large portions nicely served. The pre-show and the main show were both great, and the whole atmosphere was wonderful. I am sorry that Medieval times was not so great, thanks for sharing your experience, I will make it a point not to go there. I love to go to dinner shows while we are on vacation, but they can be costly and it is nice to get honest opinions before we shell out big money! :flower:

My family of 7 just got back from a Disney vacation last month. We went to see Arabian nights as a promotion for seeing a timeshare. We paid $25 for the whole family! For the $25 we paid - the show was great - the food was great and the kid's really enjoyed it. It costs more than it's worth but try to get a discount before going.
