Very Upset with Magical Express

I am very upset with Disney at the moment. Yesterday we recieved our Magical Express vouchers, they have the wrong names on it. See, we are taking our trip this year with some friends, actually we take all of our Disney Trips with these friends, this year because money is tight we are sharing a room, so we booked our Magic your way package for 4 adults. The reservations were placed under our friends name but since we have a disney visa, they sent us the money and we put it on our Disney card. Disney had no trouble with that part. The parts they did have trouble with were, first, my lastname, I have been to disney about 7 times that the reservations have been in my name,I was married at Disney, but no matter how many times I have asked them to change my name they still send stuff in my maiden name. So I called to make our ME reservations and changed my name and was told that since my name was not the "lead" name on the reservation that the ME vouchers would go to our friend who intend would have to send them to me. She did, but they did not have our names on them.. So here is where I get mad at Disney. I called to explain this and encountered a very Un-Disney, Un-Magical CM.

I am terrified of losing my luggage, no matter where we are going so on short hops, I try to take a carry on only(I even bought a seat for my wedding dress last year)So now I am worried that my luggage is going to get lost because of the different names. Not only that but you know how airlines are now, what if they question the different names? So I tried to explain to the CM that I would really feel much better if I was sent new vouchers but that if they did not get to me in time I would use these, WELL she was very rude, I asked for her name and employee number and she told me that she did not have an employee number or ID, so I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that no one was there. I was told that in order to recieve new tickets the reservations would have to be changed into my name. I was very disappointed in the service that I recieved. My friend called minutes after I did and spoke to a supervisor, she got more information than I did and was re-assured that our luggage would not get lost. I am very accomodating and if you are nice to me I dont get nasty or mean, I have worked with the public before and I know how to smile and be nice and to say have a great day at the end of the conversation. I didnt even get have a magical day.. What has happend to Disney Service.
 
If you are really worried about losing your luggage...
then don't use the ME tags.
We chose not to. We arrived late, 10:30pm and I was concerned....
#1 that the luggage would get lost
#2 that I wouldn't see the luggage in my room until the next morning.

Since we fly Continental... it was SO EASY to just go to baggage pick up, then on down to the ME bus.
Baggage claim is on the middle level and ME the lower level, both on the "A" side (I think).

Anyway...... it didn't take any longer to pick up our luggage on the way down to the bus stop.
I had peace of mind knowing that my luggage left with me on the bus from the airport.

Sorry you encountered a Non-Disney CM on the phone....
But you will have a great time!!!
 
I had to call directly to ME for an issue as well and had a simliar experience - not very nice CM at all. FWIW I called again the next day to try and clarify my issue and got a wonderful CM, perhaps that is an option for you.

Due to an address error I will not be getting any ME information prior to my trip. I plan to get my own luggage at the carosel and bring it to ME myself.

FWIW - the ME tags will have no affect on how the airlines handle your luggage. They will be tagged with you when you check in and you will get claim tags from the airline for your bags. As far as the airlines are concerned the ME tags are mearly decoration.

When the bags arrive at MCO that is when the ME tags are used and honestly having the tags with your friends name is the way they do it. They will want to match the bags to the reservation, which is under your friends name not yours.

There is however, no excuse for rudeness and I am sorry the CM didn't take the time to explain things properly. Like I said it took me 2 calls to get the information I needed.

ps - I have been trying to get my sil off my information with Disney for 2 years. They think she is my DH even though we have taken only one trip together. So good luck with your name change.
 
I would take a copy of my marriage liscense to check in at the airport since your reservations are in your former name (If I read your post right) :sunny:
 

I booked our reservation in my name and all the tags had my name on the top, then the other members of party names were beneath mine. It looked like this for example

John smith
Jane Smith.

That is odd if yours did not look like that. Also like I am sure others said put other identifications on your lugauge, we will be. The Disney tags are for Disney so they should end up were they are suppose to go.

Don't use the luggage service. One big headache hassle to what...save you the five minutes to get your own?

If you are "terrified", don't be - just rip up the tags and throw 'em out. When you get off the plane, get your own luggage, and then check in at the DME. You will not have any problem doing so - I do it every time.

I booked at trip for me and 4 other gfs. My tags looked like LuLu's Mom's.
My name is on the top of every tag and my gfs names are under mine. ME had the wrong flt info on the tags but they said it didn't matter as long as the yeloow tags were on the bag. I am just going to cross off the wrong info and put the right info on the tags, but it really doesnt matter what the tags say, as long as the persons name who booked the room is on them.

Your names should be listed on the reservation. If this is the case, your name should be on the ME tags along w/ the person who booked the room. I would doble check w/ the agency you booked through to make sure your names are on the room for ticketing reasons. Did your friends book the room for 2 people instead of 4?
