Hi,
Of the five of us, my 7 y.o. rules when it comes to where we use out TS credits. Any ideas for a child who eats plain pasta with butter - exclusively? thanks!

Most of the TS restaurants can whip up a bowl of Pasta.

Sounds like you have carbs and fat down What do you do for Proteins, Vitamins, fiber etc.

Just wondering.

None of the restaurants have that on their menu for kids. All the pasta comes in either the form of mac & cheese, beef & macaroni pasta or spaghetti and meatballs. I'm sure that some of them will be able to make some up for you though.
You might want to post you question on the disABILITIES forum or the Disney for Families forum. Picky eaters have been sources of discussion plenty of times on those boards. Good luck and be sure to check out the menus on allears.net.:goodvibes

Any place that has pasta on their menu will be able to give your daughter what she wants. It doesn't matter if it's on the adult menu or the kids menu. Just ask for a small bowl of pasta with butter on it. You should not feel limited by her choice. You can eat anywhere you want at Disney World that serves pasta. Which is about 99% of them.

My husband is picky about his side dishes. All restaurants have fries available. They may not be on the menu as an option but if they have a kids menu where fries are an option, they are able to make them for my husband.

At Disney, all you have to do is ask. Please do not let your daughter's pickiness prohibit the adults from experiencing some of Disney's wonderful restaurants. There is a way to make everyone happy, not just your daughter.

I think several of the CS places at each park have PPJ sandwiches, just pick one up and take it with you, they shouldn't object to it.

Checked:

AK-Pizzafari
MGM(HS)-Starring Rolls Bakery
Epcot-Liberty Inn
MK-Cosmic Rays

I have a similar diet limited eight year old. My advice: ASK!

Some places have this option available, but at 50s P/T we ordered mac 'n' cheese as the closest replacement. It wasn't good, according to Mr. Picky Eater, and the waitress observed his unhappiness and then had the cook whip up some fresh pasta with good ol' butter just for him. I wish we'd asked when we ordered because it would have been simpler for all involved.

I found that the servers are really accommodating. We even had a grilled cheese at Kona though it's not on the menu; the server just made sure they had bread left in the kitchen from breakfast that morning.

Good luck! Dealing with difficult eaters is not fun.

We have friends that order pizza like 3 nights a week all because of their 11 year old son. They only go to restaurants that serve Kraft mac n cheese-TGI fridays, Texas Roadhouse. He won't eat at other chains like Carrabas, Outback steakhouse, etc.

When we are at parties with them and people grill chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. He won't eat any of that.

There are only about a dozen food he eats. I think they indulged him when he was little and kept waiting for him to grow out of it.

Anyway, when they went to Disney last year they revolved most of their meals around him. The stayed at the Beach Club and got pizza from the window at Spoodles most nights and then went into Epcot. The bottom line is that it's their family and if they want to revolve meals around their one picky child, that's their business. I can tell you that their 9 year old daughter and 3 year old son eat normal food. In fact, their 9 year old gets really sick of pizza. When we ordered it one night at our house, she sighed and asked me if she could have cereal. :rotfl:

I think disney has dealt with picky eaters before. Plain pasta is probably something most TS restaurants would prepare for you. I would just ask. :goodvibes

I'm sure any restaurant with pasta on the menu could accomodate your request. Isn't there anything else she'll eat at all though?

We got plain pasta with butter for our son in April (he was 5 at the time) and at other times in the past. Most of the buffets will accomodate this request because they usually have a pasta dish anyway. We have been able to request it at the following restaurants:

Chef Mickey's
Mama Melroses
50's Prime Time Cafe
Crystal Palace
Rainforest Cafe'
Cape May Cafe'
Food Court at AS Movies, AS Sports, Pop
* I am sure Tony's Town Square will do it as well
Just explain to the waitress and they always try to do their best to accomodate
