We came home from work and found a note from the county sheriff's dept taped to our door. (Where we live is still technically county, not city.)
It's from the Civil Process Division in Omaha.
And it's a notice to (male's name) (our last name).
"(insert name): I have a legal writ for you. Please call me at xxx-xxxx to be served."
It gives the best hours to call and an Index # to reference.
Filled in a blank is the Professional Process Server's name.
How professional can they be if they are trying to serve a legal writ to the wrong household?

I called and left a voice mail. Hard to say if they will really believe me when I said no (name) lives at this address and their source of address information is incorrect.
So, do you suppose I will see a sherif standing at my door over the weekend?
DH better get out his ID and birth certificate!
But wouldn't you think if anyone would have a oorrect address listing, it would be the police?
I am guessing it someone who owes back child support. But considering I have never had a legal writ handed to me, I wouldn't know!
And who would call a sherif's dept and say -- "Oh! I'm Home! Please come serve me with a legal writ now!"
