Hello everyone,

We are planning a trip for approx April 28-May 2. We are looking for the absolute cheapest GN hotel that is family friendly (we don't want a dumpy one! ;)) Is there anywhere that is priced about $70-$80 a night? If not that cheap, any other options? TIA!! :cool1:

You will have to call and find out. Rates change of course. Here are some links:

Desert Inn and Suites is good for a large family any of the C-1 or C-2 family suites. Anaheim Plaza is pretty cheap GIGANTIC POOL. There is always HoJo. My suggestion is to really "haunt" the hotel websites. They usually release the spring dates around the end of the year at which time they will be the cheapest. I have gotten a C-1 family suite for Sept booked in February for about $100. Book a couple just to "have" them then finalize your decision as your trip gets closer.

How many people? What kind of room?

Desert Inn & Suites already has their May dates up and they are cheap right now. Others might be up too. Just remember that almost all of them will fluctuate their prices all over the place between now and then. If you see a decent rate, book it. You can always (at most places) cancel it for free up until 48 hours out. I've even been known to book at multiple locations when the rates are good until I decide where I want to stay. ;)

The HoJo may be offering their entertainment rate during that time, which would put it in your price range. It's a highly recommended hotel here on the Dis, and has a great kids' Pirate themed splash playground.

They don't have their ent. rates listed for that time yet, but I would keep an eye on their website to see when they update it for that time period.

Thank you so much for your help so far! To answer some questions:

We are a family of four. Our DC will be 4 and 2 1/2 at the time we are planning to go. We really just need two double or two queen beds. This will be our first Disney trip as a family so we will be happy with a blanket on the floor!! LOL!!

So you guys are saying that I should stalk the hotel websites every few days to see if the prices change? I saw the thread with the Entertainment discount for HOJO, but we do not have the book. When I went on the entertainment website to buy one it did not have HOJO listed at all?!?!

Thanks again for all of your help!! :)

You don't need a coupon or anything to book/pay for your room at Hojo's with the Entertainment Book rate; just let them know when you make your reservations over the phone & bring your card when you check in to the hotel :thumbsup2

Oh, thanks! I didn't know that! :) I love this board!!

No problem :)

I forgot to mention, if you don't do the Hojo's Entertainment rate, there are lots of nearby hotels that have discounts if you're a AAA member. You can go to the AAA website & it'll show you which hotels & what the discounted prices are.

You can also look at tripadvisor.com; besides rates, it also has hotel reviews, which can be very helpful especially if you're not familiar with the hotels in the area.

Great! I will check it out!! :) Thanks again!

I'd go with Priceline. While they guarantee only a room for 2 people, being that its Disneyland area almost all hotel rooms are two double/queen beds. This year I've gotten the Hilton twice, Crown Plaza and Holiday Inn (Kids Suite) all for $45-$60. All of them were 2 queen beds. Some of them do charge $15 for parking but I figure that into the total cost and its a bargain.

Last night I booked our next trip which is in two weeks using Priceline. This time I got the Red Lion which is a 3 1/2 star hotel. I bid $48 and it was accepted. They did assign me a King room but I called and they quickly changed it to two queens. Never had any problems and stayed in some very nice hotels dirt cheap.

Use betterbidding.com or biddingfortravel.com to get an idea of what hotel you may get and what amount to bid.
