You will need to get a ticket to this event. Check the navigator when you board as to where to pick up tickets. You will be given time slot to sign up based on your schedule. They usually have a couple of sessions (depending upon length of your cruise).

It's fun to do, so I would definitely go for a spot. The cabin smells wonderful for the rest of the cruise!

We are on a 7 night Fantasy cruise and planning on doing it. I was wondering if they did it more than once or not.

Yes, they have a few sessions but not a lot. Get your tickets as soon as you board. Last two Merry Time cruises we were on they had them at Guest Services.

We went to port adventures (per the navigator) right after we boarded and we were given a few different times during our sea day (it was a 4 night) and we were also told they were adding a session on the castaway cay day but we were interested in that.

On the 11/18 Wonder out of Galveston and went to get tickets shortly after sail away and they were gone......they only had 1 time (according to guest services) on the 7ni. cruise.

Just returned from the 11/18 out of Galveston. Per the Navigator I went to Port Adventures right after boarding, (approximately 12:50), and at that point they were issuing tickets for the last morning. There were at least two sessions that day....I saw the gingerbread parade again around mid-day. As has been mentioned in several of the threads on this activity, the pace is very quick. My mom couldn't get her house together, and a couple sitting in our row had a CM put their house together. This was fun, but I wouldn't do it again. I love gingerbread but the house ingredients were not good. Once my husband ate the gumdrops and chimney, and me part of the roof we threw it away.

We were also on the 11/18 Wonder out of Galveston. We went to Port Adventures desk right after boarding. They said it was only offered the last day and she only had 8:45 available. Kind of early. That was the first session. I know they had one right after ours because they were shooing us out. 30 minutes total was not much time. Having it on the last day was a real waste. We did not get to enjoy it at all as you are not allowed to take it off the ship. If it were offered again only on the last day I would not bother. If it were earlier in the week I would do it again because it was fun and then we could enjoy it in our cabin all week. The gingerbread tasted like the kind you get in a kit, it did not taste like fresh baked nor did it smell like fresh baked.

Ditto all of this. Wished it would have been scheduled earlier in the week.

Thanks for that bit of info.

We are on the 12/24 Fantasy Christmas Cruise. Anyone attend on the Fantasy? Is it only offered on the last day?

I was on the 11/19 Fantasy and got our tickets at Port Adventures. I don't remember seeing it in the Navigator, but thanks to this board, I knew to check on the tickets ASAP. We were one of the first groups to board the ship, so I had our tickets by about 12:30pm. We were offered two time slots: around 8am and 10:00am on Thanksgiving morning - which was a day at sea. We chose the 10:00am slot. I don't know if they were offering any other days. They told us only one kit per family, even though we were in two staterooms.

We were given two bowls of candy (small hard candy balls and jelly candy), the gingerbread pieces and frosting. The frosting worked really well and held the sides together without any problems. I've made gingerbread houses at home before with the Wilton kits, and I always have to use canned vegetables to stabilize the sides.

Very fun - I would definitely do it again!

Wow, nice to connect - there is a DCL group in the meets thread for the cruise although it is pretty quiet now as some folks have already left for Orlando...

There is no charge for the tickets
Hope we have great weather...counting the minutes

That is disappointing that they switched to the premade kits. We sail in a couple of weeks and I was really looking forward to our stateroom smelling like fresh gingerbread - ah well!
