Anyone ever gotten to the resort to check in late at night 11pm or so? If we indicate that we won't be there till then and do online check in, there shouldn't be a problem with our reservation correct?

There shouldn't be a problem. We don't do online check it but have come in as late at 1am with no issues :)

No problem at all. DME runs 24/7 because guests can check in at all hours of the night. The computers don't roll over to the next day until approx. 6 am, so an 11pm arrival is nothing to be worried about. Have a great trip! :goodvibes

ETA: computer roller over may now be 4am, not 6am :)

It won't be a problem. We've checked in as late as 3am. Not fun but necessary on that particular trip.

And we even got our request that trip - one of the few times that has ever happened. :thumbsup2

For late arrival, note:

If you arrive after 10 PM luggage service will not be available. You will need to take your luggage to the Welcome Center for Disney's Magical Express. You and your luggage will be transported on the bus.

If you checkin much after 3:00 AM you could have a problem (we've been told the computers were JUST about to shut down). We always traveled on the after work flight and arrived late, late with no problems.

Last year, we drove and arrived at Pop at 2am 11/1. Our reservation was for that day, but the computers reset at 4am. We had to wait 2 hours to check in.

If we had booked 10/31 as our arrival date, we could have gotten in no problem.

It all worked out. Got the room we wanted and had plenty of time to get ready for rope drop.

OP, we arrived betwen 1 and 2am to POR on our last trip, and except for pretty much having to scrounge up a Bell Services guy and deal with the silliness of the messed up online checkin stuff (we had booked through hotels.com and even though I was able to link the reservation they didn't have the names for DH and DS, my CC info hadn't come through for room charging, etc), it was fine.

We got exactly the sort of room we had booked and wanted.

It is sometimes hard to pay for a room you'll barely be in that hotel-day, but when you wake up and you don't need to move, or when you don't have to spend a few hours in the lobby waiting for it to be the hotel-day that you booked, it's fabulous and can feel well worth it.

Thanks to a bad snowstorm, we once were very delayed. Of the over 1000 flights canceled at O'Hare that day, ours wasn't canceled, but was delayed several hours. We finally arrived at around 2:00 a.m., and they checked us in with no problems. In fact, we had pre-ordered a mini-fridge for my mom's insulin, but it wasn't in the room when we got there. However, they brought one up right away.

It was very quiet at the airport and down the red carpet walk to the Magic Express, but we were so happy to finally get there and not miss any of the trip.

So they really let you into your room for the upcoming day at 4AM when they could have made you wait until that afternoon to check in?? Wow...that is really WDW magic. What were your plans if you had to have waited until that afternoon?
We checked in at 7:00am one trip and were told that check started at 6:00am. We were too VERY blessed to get a room that was ready that early. We offered to come back and move our luggage in after our park day but thay insisted to not only find us a room, but to give us an upgrade to the CM's favorite room!!! WDW is GOOD.

I'm pretty sure we usually check into POP after 1am, though I'm usually asleep in the car/delusional ;). We drive from Georgia (8 hours) and usually don't get there until well into the night/early morning.

If you arrive around 6-7 a.m.- do you pay for the night before or does it count as that day?? Thinking that's the time we will arrive this trip.:worried:

No you will arrive after the computers roll over for that day. You can check in that early, however, your room may not be available until the posted check in time of 3pm.

Once I arrived late, about midnight, and they had closed the online check in line. I just had to go through the regular line but it really wasn't an issue because there were hardly any people there. I have only had this happen once so I am guessing that they don't do this all the time. Other than that, I have had no issues arriving late with online check in.

I used to work in a hotel (not Disney) and night audit would begin processing the reservations that had not checked in that day around 2am, marking them as no shows. If theres any chance you could be later than 2am, your best bet is to call and have your reservation notated that you may be arriving that late. Where I worked, if this was notated on the reservation, night audit would leave them until their shift ended around 7am.

Not sure if this is how Disney works it, but it's pretty standard in the hotel industry.

We arrived at about 1 am on our last trip (about a week and a half ago).

There was some mix up with our DVC reservation (somehow the DVC CM booked it as two separate trips and didn't link them, and I didn't think to do online checkin). When I dealt with it the next morning I was essentially told that they moved our rooms because we checked in after the computers switched over; and therefore we were going to have to move.

It stunk because we were only there 2 1/2 days, and I spent 1/2 day dealing with the issue and having to move. But I also understand that these things happen sometimes. Our second room had a much better view though!

If you can help, I would try and check in before midnight. If you can't, then I would do online checkin AND notify the resort that you are coming late.

I think/hope our situation is a bit rare, and it didn't taint my opinion of Disney as I know mistakes can happen and the staff who worked with me to resolve it were pleasant and sincerely interested in "making it right."
