How about one with good crab cakes?

Papa Deuce - There's a Phillips Seafood there along the harbor. GREAT seafood, AWESOME crab cakes!

Go to Phillips! It is an all you can eat seafod buffet and it is right in the Harbor. I went to school down there and it is great. You can also try the Rusty Scupper too. Crabs are in season right now! Mmmmm.......

Within walking distance of the Marriott with 4 year olds?

Well, I believe there are a couple of Marriott's, but yes, it should be within walking distance. A couple blocks at most, I believe. There's a little "Mall" that is right near the science center and that's where Phillips is.

If you know the address of the one you are staying in, I can tell you for sure.

There's also a Legal Seafood downtown, but I can't remember exactly where that is in relation to the harbor.

Phillip's, McCormick & Schmick's, The Rusty Scupper, Legal Seafood

Do you all REALLY like Phillips? I haven't been to the one in Baltimore in years but the ones at the beach absolutely STINK and they have very ordinary seafood.

I do remember the Rusty Scupper being good but it has been awhile.

Phillips is the closest to Marriott. I would never go there but a lot of tourists do. I like Bo Brooks better for seafood, but you would need to take the water taxi. With this weather, the closer the better. The kids would probably like Hard Rock Cafe or ESPN or Fuddruckers. Nancy

I say Phillips too. We went to the Rusty Scupper a few months ago before a performance of The Lion King at the Hippodrome and had the WORST meal that we have ever had in a restaurant. We will not go back to the Rusty Scupper!

We were ther in July. The marriott inner harbor is the one across from camdon yards. Nothing is walking distance from there unless the kids are in a stroller.

On another note we had one heck of a t-storm when we were there so we ate at the hotel. The restaurant was a bit "fuu-Fuu" but the food was good. We also ate in the bat one night (ds are 9 and 12) the food there was great also. Best of luck it is a great place to vacation.

Deanna :bored:

I have to second the vote for Bo Brooks. Another great place for crabcakes is Obrycki's. Both are too far to walk with little ones, as is my other favorite place to eat in Baltimore in Little Italy (Sabatino's - yum) or north of Inner Harbor at Tio Pepes.

Right in Inner Harbor you have Phillips, Legal Seafood or City Lights. I'd recommend them in that order. None are fabulous, but all are decent restaurants.

I just made ressies for Bo Brooks for Sunday night.....thanks for making me think of it Papa D! :goodvibes Haven't been there in a couple of years and they have the best crabs anywhere.

There is a new 5 guys in one of those malls. I think the one that faces Hard Rock.

Another not thrilled with Phillips. I remember the Phillips of the 70s (dating myself  ) - it was actually good. Now you can buy Phillips seafood in the frozen food section of the grocery. Last time I was at the Phillips at the Inner Harbor, it tasted like the same frozen stuff from the grocery.
Rusty Scubber was nice - actually sits on the water - much nicer atmosphere but nt too nice for kids. It's a bit of a walk from the Marriott but you could probably catch a cab for less than $5. Many of the restaurants in Little Italy run a free shuttle service.

Don't miss the Maryland Science Center with kids. We have a membership. My kids get there 4-5 times per year & never tire of it. Many hands on activities. There is Newton's Alley & a section on the human body. They have a farting digestion exhibit, lie detector tests, a bed of nails...

Hello all. Just got home. We wanted to go to Phillips but it was POURING. And then the party we met didn't like Phillips, so we ended up choosing a little Irish pub called the James Joyce pub. It was very good and reasonably priced. It was about 1 block from the hotel. Really good calimari. And fairly kid friendly. Not at all smoky, either.

Thanks for the ideas.
