Very Important Question about Magical Express

We are going to Disney in Oct. We are going and sharing a room with another couple. The couple is from Florida and is not using Magical Express, my hubby and I are. So I called to make a reservation for magical express and gave our flight information and all. They told me on the phone that since the reservation was no in my name, even though all of our names were on the reservation that the luggage tags and all the info was going to our friend and that she would in turn have to mail them to us. She called last night to tell me that the packet had come and that there were vouchers inside, she said there were 4 tags but no transportation voucher, she claimed that there was a tag for each person. Another friend who went to Disney with Magical Express said that they each recieved two tags per person, two for her, her hubby and one I believe for her daughter each had their names on it. So I am wondering since hubby and I are the only ones flying are all four tags supposed to go to us? And should there have been a voucher for transportation? Please let me know what you have experienced. I cannot make long distance calls at work and my cell is not getting such good reception, I would like some info before I either call our friend or call Disney.

Not sure if this completely answers your questions but....

DM and I took Magical Express a few weeks ago with no problems. We received a total of 4 luggage tags, all of which had DM name on them since that's the name the reservation was under. We did not receive a transportation voucher for our trip from the airport, but did receive two (one with each of our names) for the trip back to Orlando airport on the day we leave. I hope this helps!!

Just back from WDW Our Magical Express packet contained 2 yellow ME luggage tags per person. And yes, there were transportation "vouchers"-one for each of us. The luggage tags as well as the transportation vouchers all had our individual names printed on them as well as the resort name. You must have the transportation vouchers to get on the motorcoach-coming and going to the airport! Hope you can get this all worked out quickly!

In our packet, we each had 2 luggage tags. On each tag was my DH's name (reservations in his name) but under that 2 had my name and 2 had DS name. Also in the back of the booklet were 3 vouchers. I would make sure they are not in the back of the booklet. I am sure they probably are.

Your return trip vouchers will be slipped under your resort door the afternoon before your departure date.

Okay, I've never used ME so please indulge what is probably a stupid question. Even if I don't use the luggage portion of the service and keep my bags with me, I still get to use the transportation service, right?

We received our ME packet 20 days before we left. Whenever I got nervous about something before the trip, I just called to doublecheck. It actually helped me to sleep at night.

Each voucher was scanned once on the way to the resort and then the same voucher was scanned once again when departing for the airport. I am glad we held onto them! All we got the day before we left was a letter confirming our departure time from the resort and a copy of all of our charges-no transportation vouchers.

I think a lot of this confusion comes from the fact that ME is still relatively new, so a lot of kinks are still being worked out.

Hmmm... I suppose I could be wrong...

I know for a fact though that we did not show our vouchers from the packet for the return trip. Maybe we didn't get a new set though. We did switch resorts part way through, and our second leg was under my IL's name, so maybe they showed our vouchers from their packet.

I am leaving on the 23rd as well and I got mine at the beginning of the week. I'd call my early next week if you don't get them just to make yourself feel better.

Thanks for all the information. I was able to call Disney ME(after going out of the building, past the parking lot and out onto the road for clear reception) when I spoke to the lovely woman at Disney, she informed me that the tags that we have recieved were like souvenirs, they change them each year. Has anyone recieved these with their first packets. She said that the ME tags with Barcodes should arrive two weeks prior to our vacation. So all is well. thank you for all your info though. It helped me get familiar with the ME.

We leave on 9/21 and I received my ME tags this past Monday, August 29th. It states in the booklet, "please present this booklet and your airline baggage claim tickets to the Disney representative to confirm your transportation arrangements to the Walt Disney World Resort" Then in the back or the book there are transportation vouchers that say "Please present this voucher to the motorcoach driver upon your departure from your WDW Resort TO the airport."

I also had to call them because our return flight number had changed since I entered it on the website for Magical Express Disney's Magical Express and the lady I spoke with was EXTREMELY nice and helpful!
