I was in the supermarket yesterday and this guy had something on his hand he was trying to get off, he kept trying to rub it off or shake it off, well he couldnt so he wiped his hand off on A PIECE OF FRUIT!!!!!

EWWWW

Also another good reason is that only 1% of all our imported food gets inspected. As a public health major, I get to learn all these nifty facts. I have a good tip about alfalfa sprouts, but it's kind of gross, so just make sure that you ALWAYS cook them.

That's gross. And I guess I'll never buy alphalpha sprouts again!!

Wow, I just rinse it, that makes me want to SCRUB my fruit!

I started washing them with a drop of liquid dishsoap and warm water. Apples, oranges, watermelons, etc... after my sister told me to wash them. She works in a grocery store and said..."if you only knew".

I was at a cooking show and the demonstrator said that you should wash your fruits and veggies with vinegar and water. I used to make myself salads off of those salad bars in grocery stores, but now you couldn't pay me to eat one. Think how nasty some of that stuff is sitting on the salad bar all day and kids playing in it. Grooooosssssss!

Don't even get me started on salad bars! I took a whole class on food safety and now I think I know too much.

Well... you probably heard about the hepatitis A outbreak up here - and the cause is pointing to green onions from Mexico. Over 500 people have been infected, and 3 have died so far.....:(
