This year we were at Universal 25th and 26th July and very busy. Booked one night at RPR to take advantage of express pass. Next year our dates in Orlando would be 6th August to 30th August so wondering what crowds like at the very end of August. Would we need express. Really want to avoid staying on site if possible as we stay over at Wyndham Bonnet Creek which we love and my husband refuses to actually sleep at Universal so we keep our room at BC so quite a bit extra cost for us. Just that my son loves it in the parks.
Would love to hear what it was like this year.
Thanks

This year we went August 18-23 ..it was very busy and we stayed onsite.Waits( around midmorning-early afternoon) for Forbidden journey were 60-90 mins most of the day.Spiderman was also 60-90 mins and Transofrmers ( when it worked) was 60-90 mins .We had express pass for staying onsite so we obviously didn't wait that long.REMEMBER>>>>>>>>>NEXT summer is the opening of the Harry Potter expansion, that is going to bring people in in droves and change crowd patterns...Plan on it being packed pretty much from opening to months after.I would stay onsite, it will be beneficial since both parks will likely have early entry

We were there around the same time, and I agree with R. It was very crowded even first thing in the morning. Got there at early opening and I still waited 20 min. For Olivanders. Express for Spider-Man still took about 15 minutes one afternoon, way better than the 1.5 hour standby time!

This. Crowd patterns will change once again and both parks are liable to be packed over the summer no matter when you go.
