Very Disappointed in Disney Visa!

Also a charter member and I never got anything either.

And I may get flamed for this, but I feel like we don't really get anything special or extra for being members. We got to book a few days ealier.. big deal. I could have just as easily booked CBR today without using my Disney VISA, and I could have done it on line and saved myself the wait time on the phone.

but use it for offers only. I agree with everyone else. I cancelled my ressie in mid August....and the CM told me I had a "code" via e-mail, but it has expired. Never got it...checked the garbage box all the time. I could have gone anytime during the summer, but was hoping for free dining. I asked many times since booking in January...boy was I not the happy camper when she told me that. Airfare for just my DD and I is almost 1,000. Would have loved a little discount. Maybe Disney will come through....we shall see!

I plan on snipping mine also---after I spend the $450 (plus by the time Aug rolls around)---but can you give us a list of the "good" cards with more rewards that are out there?

I know Discover gives 5% on gas, but 1% of everything else. Any help for us ticked off Visa holders?

Still no notice from Chase on the free dining.....disgusts me totally. :sad2:
 
Hey, I didn't think I received an email either :headache: but then when I checked my SPAM I actually had 2 emails from them. Everyone might want to check there.

Ironically, though, when I spoke with Chase last week, the CSR told me I was set up to receive the email and read it out to me. Never did receive it and I did check SPAM folders and such. I simply didn't get it.

"Que sera sera" I suppose. End result, I did get the discount and I got in on it on Monday, so it ended up as a win-win situation. Hope you all had equally good fortune with it.
 
I really don't see this as being any different from people who have pin codes attached to their names but are never informed about it and only find out if they happen to call and ask. It really doesn't bother me. If I find out the information anyway, it's not worth my time to get upset about it. I know, I've booked, I'm going to WDW in five months...all is good. If the lack of notifications and low rewards bothers people that much, well they aren't being forced to keep the account....
 
I am a Charter Member with Disney Visa and have kept my account in good standing ever since, but I am very disappointed that I never received any Email, snail mail, etc. notice about the Free Dining Plan. I had to depend on the DIS Board for the code.

People are complaining - "and I'm one of them" about really poor customer service from Chase - Disney should be ashamed to have their name attached to a product that is so poorly managed.

How weird is it that my DH just joined and he did get an email with the offer! I had him forward it to me. I didn't get a thing. Here is what he got.

I feel we all are complaining because who knows what other emails we were supposed to get and never showed up? Joe Schmo might be getting 10% off on his gas through Disney Visa and Henny Penny might be getting 5% off of restaurant purchases----and ribbot is still getting NOTHING because there is NO COMMUNICATION from Disney Visa. For $50K that I've put on the card in a year and a half, there should be more benefits to the card and much better communication.

Maybe people like me who pay their cards off each month don't get the emails on purpose??

I have been wondering the same thing. I pay off my balance each month and have never, in the entire time that I have had card (2004 Charter Member) paid any interest. I did not get an email (I check AOL spam folder) nor have I gotten any special offers about gas or anything else.

I do have to say that it does my heart good to be taking an extra $450 in Disney Dollars FREE on our June vacation!
 
DH and I just had a discussion about this yesterday. After our trip in September we are going to stop using the Disney Visa and go with an Alaska Airlines Visa for free miles. That way we can save for free airfare to anywhere, not just Disney. :sad1:
 
Didn't get an email here either.

As to the paying balances off, I don't think that matters. We carry a balance, but are in good standing, and did not get an email.

I also checked their website multiple times during the week and never saw it on the actual account info page or the rewards site they have been highly advertising. Very poor service. I opened this account 2 yrs ago bc of the promised special offers, but haven't been seeing them. Well, until this one, and then didn't even know about this one until the DIS.

I think I will be transferring my balance.
 
I didn't receive an email either and I'm a Charter Member that has never paid a penny in interest. We use the card every month to pay for any purchase that accepts visa, so that we can earn the Disney reward $$. I'm seriously considering getting a different credit card from EmigrantDirect.com. They will pay 1.40% on all purchases if you have $10k in their savings account that pays 5.05% APY. That's 1.40% in real money that I can use wherever I choose. Anyway, thanks to DIS, I was able to book the free dining for Sept.
