On our last trip (dec 2004) we had a really cool experience. We were in Fantasyland, right around where Pooh's Thoughtful Spot is now, when Wishes started for the MVMCP. We had wanted to be in front of the castle which is where we were heading.
We actually were very disappointed :( until we started absorbing what was going on around us. :goodvibes The fireworks were going off around us and exploding what felt like directly above us. We felt like we were right in the middle of the Wishes program. It was amazing. :wizard: ;) My DH and I still talk about that experience and how awesome it was.

Could you hear the music from back there?

You can hear the Wishes music from just about every place outside inside the Magic Kingdom. They have speakers everywhere. :)

Thanks for the tip Natalie. I just hope that I remember that for our next visit. We have seen wishes from inside the park both in front of the castle and also by Ariels grotto and from the beach at the Poly. When we saw them from Ariel's grotto our DD was only 4 and was too scared of fireworks so she went to hide with mommy while I tried to video tape them for DD to watch at home. She liked to see them, but could not deal with the noise. Now she flips between loving fireworks or being easily distracted by playing in the sand while they are going off.

Thanks for the tip.. I will be sure to remember it for when we got in a few weeks.. The castle area is so congested..

We have been in that area during the fireworks--- however, no one has mentioned you have to dodge the dropping debris from the fireworks!! :rotfl2:

still a good place to see them because not many people are back there.

i personally would MUCH rather be hit by flaming debris than be in a crowd!! :lmao:

Awww... you gave away our favorite spot!!! :teeth:
It is great and uncrowded (for now! ;) ) but do watch out for the wind. Me and DD got ash in our eyes one night. All of a sudden it was just raining gray stuff! Pretty scary, but hasn't stopped us from going back- we just test the wind first...

On our last trip we had just gotten on the Dumbo ride when the fireworks started. It was just amazing to be up in the air and see the beautiful fireworks going off around and above us. It's hard to describe but it felt so magical. We had always watched Wishes from in front of the castle so this was a totally different experience and one we're really glad we had even though we didn't plan it that way.

I am planning on watching Wishes from the Poly beach next month. Can you hear the music there or only in the park?

:Pinkbounc An interesting thing about viewing Wishes from FantasyLand is that there is water pumped on the roofs of the buildings to prevent any accidents with fireworks sparks/debris. The first time we noticed it running off into drains in the sidewalks we had to take a minute to figure our where it had come from. :Pinkbounc

I am heading down with the family next week, booked wishes boat ,,is that worth 200.00??? Would love some advice.. the illusions boats are booked for the week already :( but also cost twice as much!! so.. what do think ?

yes- we always see the water while strolling back there after the fireworks-- its so nice and quiet to walk through fantasyland around through liberty square and over to adventureland- while everyone else is RUSHING for the exits we just stay back-- way back! ;)

When I went last time I found Fantasyland by accident as the perfect spot for Wishes-it was so empty I copuld lie down on one of the benches and look up at the fireworks-- :rotfl2: Word of warning-don't walk around whilst looking upwards-I did and stubbed my toe (in sandals) on one of the benches :furious: I had an unwanted souvenir for about 3 months! :sad2:
